Is this a fact? And if so when will the changes come into effect?

Pick 6 without couplings for me as a small punter will mean no more P6 bets (same as JP) - more to invest in the PA I suppose :S

As I said before, the Quinpot was my favourite exotic bet, dunno why they dropped it
It started with the 2nd leg of PA and ended before the last
Many years ago, before the P6 every Wed & Saturday we travelled to Milnerton by bus
If you lost the 1st leg of the PA, you HAD to play it to keep interest in the day
The payouts was'nt all that bad either, and if you won, could play the last race too(tu)
I hope they use the same format(:D

Hi

The Bi-Pot was over 6 Races and only at the Vaal and was not an easy bet to get right thus it was not so polular to the masses. Similar to todays JP mainly the big Perms win and then as BlouPerd will confess to he leaves one Horse out and that is the one that wins.

At one stage the PE P6 did not include the Couplings with the result a lot of scheming and manipulation took place by the Trainers. Now before I get moered with a titanium Baseball bat I had Horses in PE with a top Trainer so had first hand knowledge of this, not that the Plan always worked out. With the Pools being so much bigger in the main centres I can just imagine the manipulation that MIGHT take place. IMO there will be more C/O but maybe that is what is required (massive pools) to compete with Lotto, Soccer 10 & 13, etc.

Well one pays your money and takes your chances. My take is that if the majority of Punters do not win something no matter how small now and again they will look somewhere else to punt. Even the Lotto and Soccer 13 have consolation prizes lke 3 correct numbers etc. so maybe a consolations payout might help keeping and/or attracting new CUSTOMERS.

I am curious to know when these Bets will come into force and just hope that the Betting outlets know in advance so that they will be prepared to lay them and also to see what happens to the Pools over time.

Too many bet types imo, at this rate we will have smaller pools in the exotics....(td)

Gregbucks correct goes against what Vee said on TV about churning the punters money for a bigger take out , going to tie up the money for to long:S

Why dont they rather payout 4th place for 12 runners ?
Or revert back to the 3rd place payout for less thn 8 horses carded. ?

vis , 100% ! I have caught percentages of high paying P6's where the wrong one had won and kept my bet alive !

maybe they should trial it first in kimberly , that centre's p6 payouts will rise for sure .
