rule for horse names

do any body now what the rule is for the name of a horse? i now that you cant be calling the horse the rude name but lately some stupid names are being used. you get donkey and goat from lafferty, i think personal it is the disgrace to name the horse such names even if every one say it is fun. now louis goosen today have horse called bah. what is this? i google this and get this result
1. bah
a word used to express feelings of tiredness, boredom, or frusteration.
bah. I have a boring life AND I can't open a can with a conventional can opener.
2. bah
dissappointment, something to say when you have nothing else to say.
BAH, i hate him so much
3. bah
The war cry of a sheep or goat.
Its an annoying sound, and it makes death come to your mind.
what is this non sense? why is the horse called this stupid name? may be the jockey club should say no to this type of name

There is no correct way to spell Chinese in English because they have a completely different phonetic system but the Chinese number eight, which is regarded as good luck, is usually spelt either ba or bah. Maybe that's the reason for the name.

My google search reveals that bah means good in Azeri ( Azerbaijan)
I think there was a decent horse that ran in Hong Kong called Good Ba Ba.....
Not sure it's related , I think Tipster is more on the right track.

A horse preforms as well as his/her name .
You want a goat you get a goat ,you want a donkey you get a donkey
Dont cry when IT ( confused ) runs last ,
