Phumelela to bail out Greece

SUBJECT: PMU and Phumelela Gaming and Leisure form a consortium to
participate in the tender procedure launched on horse race betting licence
in Greece

On 17 May the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund’s (HRADF) Board of
Directors qualified 2PU, the consortium formed by PMU (Paris, France) and
Phumelela Gaming and Leisure (Johannesburg, South Africa) for the purpose
of participating in the tender procedure for the grant of the exclusive
right to organise and conduct mutual or tote betting on horse races in
Greece for a period of 20 years.
PMU and Phumelela Gaming and Leisure are working on a project that will
benefit the whole Greek horseracing industry and allow a sustainable and
profitable growth of the horse race betting market.

About Phumelela Gaming and Leisure:
Phumelela operates horseracing and tote betting in four of South Africa’s

centres, as well as retail, telephone and digital tote betting, and offers
