gothic and who actually chooses the final july field

i would like to know who actually chooses the final july field..the horse gothic has not accepted to run in the daily news or lonsdale on saturday and so far he has not being nominated for the 1800 trial at clairwood on the 8th june...it seems to me because he is on the top 20 log he is bypassing these races so to guarantee himself a place in the july field and have a prep in a plate race somewhere...the handicapers took a dim view of the sa derby result giving the winner wylie hall a 98mr the 2nd horse gothic a 97 mr and the 3rd horse wild one a mr 95...ALL THREE ARE IN THE TOP 20 JULY LOG so it tells me that the handicaper and the people choosing the log differ greatly....fortunately wild one and wylie hall run in the daily news but gothic does not .yorker has a merit rating of 102 and has never run in a 3yo feature race and he isnt in the TOP 30 LOG...i fear we might have a piss poor july field if the people who choose the log have the final say in the final field...it also has halted my betting activity on the race as i cannot trust the people who differ greatly from the official hcapers ratings..

got a bit tired of a few posters who in my opinion are giving this site a bad name amongst people who could and should be contributing on abc..its one thing to have an opinion but back it up with relevant facts and figures and make sure you have them correct.

When I spoke to one of the owners last week he assured me Gothic was going to run in the Daily News.
I am actually surprised that it is not in the final field.
Will find out why?

Pirates don't get tired bud! There are trainers owners jocks and handlers and a few drunkards who have an opinion but that's life ! Who's to say which is right. That is what makes this game great . It's a lot of fun and yes it can be costly fun but WTF .

seems to me that they been well advised by a former handicaper...poor show imo

I am sure that should Gothic be selected, then some kak will be hitting the fan and one would only wonder about transparency and integrity in the selection panel.

Pirates you are spot on about why you and many others actually involved will not post much anymore. Many Trainers have said you on a hiding to nothing as there are too many armchair experts out there to take on. You get slated by people hiding behind pseudonyms and some know very little. I and many of my owner and punting friends believe that if you are going to have a good bet in a race you need to see the horses in the parade ring and canter down to be as certain as possible that you selection is right. Anyone who does not believe you need that is going to loose often. I stated that on another thread and got told I am talking sh1t! Well carry on and do it your way then. I am going to stick with posting on Rugby and other sports but leave racing alone as there are obviously more qualified people here and overseas to tell/explain to the rest of the posters the in and outs of racing.:X If anyone wants to pm me that is fine. I will answer the genuine ones. Where are you Ou Ryperd to chat about Formula 1 and rugby?
