The oddsmakers - who appear to trade heavily on general punter ignorance of betting percentages in the South African market - never fail to disappoint. Further to the above - let's look at the July betting:
Interbet presently lists 83 'entries'. All but 15 of them have attracted bets. Furthermore some of the most heavily backed are odds on not to make the cut.
Yet they are betting to 147% on a 'field' where approximately 65 of that number still have to be eliminated!
Bookmakers love to cite the 'risk' of ante-post betting but fail to finish the sentence which should read ..........risk TO THE PUNTER.
With the majority of the field looking more attractive to the procurement department of Epol pet food it's no wonder that bookmakers must regard this event as the biggest moneyspinner of the year.
