Just had a look at the past winners weights and you are right as top weight was increased in 2010 from 58 to 60kg's so you do have to go along way back to find a winner with 60 kg's. ;)

Strydom yesterday said that Pomodoro is striding even better than he did last year when winning the july

NUDGE NUDGE in his tone of voice (and a very very good judge );)

The July is shaping up as a really interesting betting proposition imho simply because the 3 year old form seems suspect and even if Vercengotorix stays in he's not sure to stay...certainly not with his current style of racing. If he's to be held up for a run as MDK suggests, he would still need to find a way through.CTN is pretty much in the same boat.
So for me Pomodoro and Hill54 along with ANY lightly weighted older horse who gets it right on the day...and that includes Run for It!!! I'm hoping lurkers such as Master Plan, Punta Arenas and Gold Onyxx sneaks in to really make it interesting.

E JET is number 21 on the log...the way this runs he might just be upset material.

Pirates, it looks like they are keeping the race anyway. These are the races that GC are trying to fill and that is why we want the better horses here and not the maidens and lower rated horses. Interesting that there were 21 noms from outside the province in that race and besides Justin, only 1 horse accepted from there. It really begs another question, if RFI wins this small( and I am sure there will be scratchings before raceday) race will that put him in the top 20? He should win this in a canter as he is 8 merit rating points above the next highest rated horse and recieves 3.5kgs from him! Why has he not run before this in a race that could really qualify him? I dont think this race will help at all except to show he is well.

craig the so called log is all wrong imo i have run for it in the top 10 of my log....his rating of 104 and his last run in a group 2 wfa race 1st run after gelding shows his wellbeing...honestly the group one woolavington form with cott running lengths below her best and now officially withdrawn should put do you remembers and jet belles form into perspective...

Got to agree - how RFI can be outside the Top 20 boggles my small mind - and given the stated 'method of selection' being that horses will get in based on MR AND Current Form. surely if RFI wins on Friday, that proves Current Form - and his MR certainly high enough.

Not sure what you mean by the form of DYR and JB, so you mean they are worthy inclusions or not?
