It is a lot indeed! Rather limit it to 10k, a bit more reasonable, have more people there, more fun, and more frequent entrees, if I lost with 50k, which I probably would, I would never go again...

This tournament is a slap in the face to the normally R100 a month punter out there, what does the greedy phumelela do for them?? At least the casino's treat all equally, no matter if you a R100 pr R100000 patron you can still get win prizes etc with a winners circle card...Yes i know they take your money as well at the end of the day but they certainly know how to look after there customers.

I'm sure there are poker tournaments with similar buy in's and to be fair there where a couple of R11k comps .

Good to hear the format has changed . R25k goes into the pot . Then of the remaining R25k you gat to spend it anyway you like across both turffies and kenilworth cards with a max spend of R10k on exotics . Also if you dont win the comp prizes, you keep your profits of the day.

.....at least this little exercise will see a bigger injection into the tote pool so that us R100 fools can get a bit of value on Saturday.....on this I may open a seperate thread as TAB seem to be on a hiding 2nd to none in the more affluent areas in Northern Jhb suburbs.....Highveld Racing seems to have stopped their Tote terminals although it may be a tempory measure....but Topbet in Montecasino have nolonger tote terminals and are like Ricky Sin offering tote odds on all bets.....what is TAB going to do when more and more betting lounges stop tote product and provide themselves with equipment to print tickets and payout on the tote dividends.....:
