Looking forward to a competitve but interesting day on the sand
-
R2: Draws always important over this 1200; so I agree with THH that Sweet Lyrics looks fair value and should turn it around with BlackMAgic Woman, Tell My Star an obvious PA inclusion
R3: Very weak field,so the first timer does not have to be anything special to feature prominently here; last week it seemed that being drawn on the inside down the straight was a disadvantage, so if that holds true today Gold Prospector also has a nice draw - he is also inding betting support so tempting to bank GP in the PA - but I'm going to back him up with Mr Alfonso and Salute the Sun
R4: Very competitive sprint, where again the outside draws may hold an advantage; Gabronza won his maiden very well, but that was a weak field, and even though drawn towards the outside, I am loooking for a couple of others to include in the PA: Maji Moto good last run (but Shine Tiger ran a disappointing race last week from an inside draw); MM also drawn on the outside so must go in imo; interesting runner imo is the juvenile Hawksworth, who has put up some good runs and could be good enough here (if taking to the Vaal sand as well as he did to Flamingo) from an outside draw; not sure if Weekend Special can repeat her 1200 win over the 1000 against the boys; Eagle Face has put up some fair runs over this trip, but the draw could be against him - I'm going wide in the exotics
R5: Very similar puzzle to solve as in the previous race; La Volta still running below her best imo but her last run was not bad against the boys and must be a definite contender here; a few of the other fillies will not win any prizes for consistency (Club Captain and Lecture Queen have beaten each other by more than 5 lengths on different occasions) so not easy to find a backup to LV; Ikati is ideally suited to the trip, but an inside draw could be against her while all of Brave Princess, Lecture Queen, Canta Libre and Sunset Baby must be considered; so either take a chance on La Volta, or load up.
R6: Now the fun starts; another competitive handicap, where none of the 9 runners can be totally discounted; for me I liked Boy oh Boy's last effort over 1800; should be better over the shorter trip and well in with some of the others on previous form (5.5 kg's better off with Uncle Tommy for a 1.25 length beating back in January) so definite place value imo; of the Azzie quartet, Masai Warrior looks the right one, but Dragon Vein can not be written off after one poor effort. Field race in the P6 and JP?
R7: Spectroscope has won twice over this trip and looks the P6 banker on the card imo - curious tactics in his last start, but should race from the front (or very handy at worst) from a good draw and hard to beat imo; my 2nd choice is Shadow Line who put up a fair first effort on the sand last time after a rest and could improve here; very good place value imo about Elvis's (break a leg (tu)) Silver Specialist
R8: I may be totally off my rocker, but imo Lady Julia looks very good value here; narrowly beaten when flying up from a wide draw last time; faces a weak field and must surely go close from a reasonable draw; only possible danger that I can find is the inconsistent Mesmerising Melody
Enjoy (tu)

Hi Madji, I'm hoping for a BIG run today from SILVER.
Down a division now in A MR 78, last week ran in a MR 90 !!
we are 5kgs BETTER OFF with Spectroscope ( beat us by 1,25L we were 6th, Spect was 5th ) & NO STRIKER TODAY, but Gunther is a good replacement.
Madji I've had a good nibble at 16's break a leg guys. good racing.
Elvis.
