Eagle face
Ikati
masai Warrior
Lady Julia

Yankee play for the day.

I really fancy Ikati strongly...good draw and well weighted.

Speed ratings for main contenders with previous Vaal Sand form –

Felt I should be apologising for some poor rating information, specifically around the winners Cockney Tiger and Oklahoma Trippi who may have been underrated, yet still not convinced about the 23rd May form line, they both made good improvements for sure.

R1 MDN 1600m
83…Nad’s Pride – 28/10
81…Sir Swarovski – 5/1
73…King’s Joy – 8/1
71…White Party – 5/1
59…Hobb’s Flight – 40/1
59…Lead by Approval – 40/1
??…Sans Limites and Sarge in Charge
Very little confidence with any of the contenders. The esoteric analysis of trainer patterns often makes things more confusing than clear – KGN has had a few runners producing their best run shortly after their worst run ‘a la Nad’s Pride’…yet no indication that the last run shall be repeated. PFM usually displays more consistency than most other trainers, therefore Sir Swarovski becomes one of the floating bankers for the quartet. Can never leave out MGA at VS and also think Hobb’s Flight can make the quartet. The SDG pair can easily feature and just as well flop.

R2 MDN-F 1200m
79…Sweet Lyrics – 4/1
75…Tell My Star – 11/10
69…Black Magic Women – 20/1
59…Sherya’s Angel – 20/1
58…Berryfields – 20/1
55…Red Oak – 40/1
??…Irish Lace – 10/1
Sweet Lyrics looks good here and with seemingly just one to beat the 4/1 looks good value. Shall include Reminisce in quartets along with Irish Lace.

R3 MDN 1000m
82…Mr. Alfonso – 5/2
75…Zeerust – 10/1
61…Salute the Sun – 5/1
58…Global Talk – 66/1
57…Combat Cat – 66/1
36…Lisa’s Choice – 16/1
??…Gold Prospector – 22/10
Tricky start to P6 where Zeerust looks the value especially as Mr. Alfonso’s current form has to be validated and the favourite being a first timer. The ‘KGN pattern’ would indicate Lisa’s Choice to be the upset.

R4 MR72 1000m
100…Weekend Special – 7/2
..96…Maji Moto – 10/1
..95…Rodeo Dandy – 11/2
..93…Eagle Face – 8/1
..91…Gabronza – 11/2
..90…Jetsons – 7/1
Weekend Special won really well lto, now back in distance and open company = ???
Maji Moto looks the value and the unexposed Gabronza the danger in a competitive race.

R5 MR84F 1000m
100…Ikati – 11/2
..99…Club Captain – 12/1
..98…La Volta – 33/10
..94…Brave Princess – 8/1
..91…Lecture Queen – 14/1
..89…Sunset Baby – 8/1
..88…Cante Libre – 20/1
..86…Rooi Nooi – 10/1
Think it is between the top 3 rated where Club Captain looks the value.
La Volta much better placed now whilst Ikati has impressive sand form.
Lecture Queen to make up the quartet.

R6 MR103 1600m
117…Jet Jamboree – 5/1
115…Uncle Tommy – 5/1
108…Eastern Cobbler – 10/1
108…Right Beauty – 10/1
107…Magic Smoke – 9/2
106…Dragon Vein – 11/2
104…Masai Warrior – 7/2
Bring the pin…wide open!
Uncle Tommy looks the safest PA candidate.

R7 MR78 1600m
102…Spectroscope – 13/10
..95…Decameron – 9/2
..95…Silver Specialist – 20/1
..93…Baron Zemo – 20/1
..90…Shadow Line – 4/1
..89…Caribbean Coast – 33/1
Spectroscope looks the right one here but the odds are very skinny. Silver Specialist looks really good value.

R8 MR68 1450m
92…Mesmerising Melody – 7/1
87…Lady Julia – 3/1
84…Rulesofengagement – 16/1
83…White Squall – 5/1
83…Beautiful Dawn – 12/1
83…Ligeti – 11/2
Two horse (filly) race with Mesmerising Melody the days stand out for me. Thought White Squall better than last few runs…Rulesofengagement definite quartet inclusion along with Lady Julia.

R3 9 Mr Alfonso
R4 8 Weekend Special
R5 9 Ikati
R6 1 Jetjamboree
R7 2 Spectroscope

Very tough card today with first timers backed and plenty of low MR handicaps where the horses form fluctuates from race to race. I will not be playing anything on the nose today but rather play a % of the PA and hope it pays well. I have tried to leave Strydom's mounts out of the races I could as even though he is not riding his original mounts because of his name will carry plenty of tickets and will hope to get them beat. My PA works out to R1536 and I see it follows reasonably closely with THH ratings which I like.
Leg 1: 1
Leg 2: 1,9,10
Leg 3: 1,4,12,15
Leg 4: 2,5,8,12
Leg 5: 1,2,4,7
Leg 6: 2,3
Leg 7: 3,9,10,13

Play well (tu)
