Sponsorship

When a jockey that is sponsored, wins on my horse, should the sponsor not "pay/reward" the horse/owner.
Take Ocean Basket as an example. They are sponsoring half the jockeys, who uses other peoples assests to promote themselves for free. Surely THIS is a matter to be seriously considered by the RA.

The insentive for sponsorship is to get air time for the sponsor for which the jockey is paid,Should the jockey not therefore be responsible for rewarding the Owner?? I can only speak on behalf of Property Skillz where we give incentives to our guys not only for wins but placings as well where we get no airtime whatsoever,we have had this self same discussion with our Jocks and for some unknown reason there seems to be the general concensus that winning the race is sufficient reward for the owner, something that Property Skilzz is in total disagreeance with.
The actual air time that is given to the sponsor is reliant on wether there is overseas racing or not in which case the interviews are only done in the rerun package which is something that is off putting to many companies that are looking to get involved, once we can get around this problem Im sure that all insundry will be rewarded.

Aaaah, somebody should ask the owners opinion, or alternatively who says that it is sufficient reward. If I understand FG correctly, then I must point out to FG that the whole reason why the jockey is being interviewed after the race, and the sponsor getting airtime, is because my horse/asset helped them to get the interview, and I and my horse is still involved at that time.
Charl on Freeracer in a tread states that it is generally accepted that in winning a race that the credit should go 25% to the jock and 75% to the horse. I do not neccessarly agree with Charl, as I often give the jock a higher percentage.
I say again, this would be a very good task for the RA. I for one, am watching what they are doing about it, as I have NO DOUBT that the owners should be rewarded. I am seriously considering asking the jock to remove his "sponsor"cap, or alternatively to force him to ride with a cap with my own companies logo on it. I have NO DOUBT that a sponsored jock will refuse to do this, or alternatively he will want compensation to wear my own logo. This will prove my point, why should the owner then not get paid/compensated.

The intellectual property is the Horse and it belongs to the owner, could be an interesting topic, in fact we have had before, should try and find the previous thread.

I have spoken to Otto regarding this point and we have a clause in our contract that states if a jockey refuses to wear our logo for any reason what so ever with the exception of the preconditioned meetings July and met etc he shall be deemed to have renaged on his contract and all monies owing shall be forfeit or a penalty imposed so if there is a problem with any of our jockeys who may ride for you please contact us at info@propertyskillz.co.za so that we can avoid any ill feelings,we can then advise the jock not to wear our logo when riding for you and we will make the needed amendments to our contract, this will not mean a loss of any of his basic salary he will only be required to forfeit his win and place riding incentive for those specific race, this way we can reach common ground for all concerned.

Perhaps owners advertise their own sponsorship when being interviewd.
