Rock N Roll Evening

We are having a Rock 'n Roll party on the last Saturday of this month, with Artists like, Dawn Selby ex 3rd Eye, Butch Cooke ex Lincoln, Alan Reid and Mervin Gershanov Ex Mods Robbie Pavid ex Freedoms Children and loads of others and Spider Murch will be Compere for the evening,If there are any clanners that will be in Durban that weekend let me know as I am trying to put a table of 8 together, the price of a ticket is R200 including a Full Buffet Diner but any ABC posters that attend pay R150.00, would be great to get together and listen to some good ol Rock n Roll...

Now those were the days, or my days at least and IMO the 60's music is still the best and brings back many memories, both good and bad . Just wish I could be there, anyway enjoy.

is that the same Butch Cooke that played at the Sportsman at the Newlands Hotel in Newlands? If so then its well worth attending.

That is him C'nC ...I worked with him when he played for Lincoln at Bella Napoli back in the day ...I DJ'd at the Bella for 2 years...

My best was Journeys End sessions -2 groups alternating -THE MODS-Alan Reid ,Mervyn Gershanov(great lead guitar) and THE GONKS--Craig Ross (later Freedoms Children)...............great days indeed!

Spider Murch played bass for Dunny and The Showman with Timmy Bennie and Dunny Brown..the Brown bros are now living in Aus

BTW Dave Miller ex Lincoln also lives in Durban..........could probably put almost the entire group together!
