Big race days at the Vaal

Whenever there is a feature event at the Vaal, horses coming from behind seem to be disadvantaged. It's all got to do with sand compaction. Maybe for a bigger day they spend more time rolling the sand. Fron-runners do it easily out in front and always find plenty extra unlike a normal meeting when they often get bogged down. Roman Eagle and Admiral's Daughter should have things in their favour then.

The only thing big about racing at the Vaal is the petrol bill to get there.
