PRESS RELEASE
LADIES DAY AT KENILWORTH RACECOURSE
SATURDAY 10 AUGUST 2013
______________________________________________________________________________
It is time for the women of the world to be spoilt with a glorious afternoon out at Kenilworth Racecourse on Ladies Day!
This festive occasion in aid of a good cause and in celebration of National Women’s Day, includes a fantastic 3 course Ladies Luncheon in the Peninsula Room on Saturday 10th August.
Besides an action packed racing line up that is guaranteed to get the adrenalin pumping, the girls only afternoon will also be stacked with entertainment and prize giveaways, including the chance to, well ….shine bright like a diamond! Literally!
Ladies who attend the party afternoon will have the opportunity to WIN a matching set of diamonds, enjoy a fashion show and win one of the many exciting spot prizes.
Our top line sponsors include NR Diamonds, Graham Beck Wines, Avontuur Estate, Optiphi professional skin care range that specialises in skin rejuvenation peels, Utopia beauty salon, Dermalogica, Cigar clothing, Tanya Wheeler Jewellery, Bodissox, Dandy PR and Jullias Killias Designs.
Those high profile names indicate the quality of the fabulous spot prizes!
A charity auction of a magnificent Racehorse will be held, courtesy of Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud and through the generosity of Marsh Shirtliff and Lukas Theron.
Top trainer Brett Crawford will be training the beautiful athletic specimen by champion racehorse Jay Peg, for free! All proceeds from this colt will to go to Reach for Recovery (Breast Cancer Association).
We have a replica of Harry the Horse, named “Harriet” who will be auctioned on the day. The concept was born after the National Yearling Sales in aid of the Highveld Horse Care Unit.
It really is a great reason to gather the girls and head trackside for a deserving cause.
Do not forget to put on your dancing shoes as the day will be MC’d by the party master, Gabriel Shai Music and entertainment.
Men are welcome to join the party from 16h00.
Tickets are R350pp and include a 3 course meal. Tables will be ten seaters.
Bookings are essential, so don’t delay and contact Mandy Kannemeyer or Jenna Adams on 021 700 1667

This is yet another example of what is wrong with SA racing regarding trying to get people onto the course.
A ladies day in the middle of the winter.
Woman want to go out and sit in the sunshine, wear nice summer clothes, drink white wine and nibble on salads.
They do want to have to stay indoors, trape along with their raincoats and unbrellas, drink red wine and eat hot foods.

I can understand Catalyst's "frustration", R350 for a 3 course meal plus all the other entertainment/offers does not sound expensive to me, especially when considering the proceeds are going to worthy a cause. Furthermore, anything that gets people back going to racing is a plus and a good event will only encourage them to return to future events. Though I doubt they will be seen on a wet day in the middle of the week, that can probably also be said of 90% people on this forum! Well done to those with the initiative and to all those who are no doubt putting in a lot of hard work for no return to make the event a success, I hope it is exactly that and more for you... anyone in the CT area, why not try and give this some enthusiasm and encourage family, friends, work colleagues etc to give it a go, reckon they will have a good time... and if you want you can have a peaceful day at home watching the racing for a change

wow some of you are super sensitive. Why cant one voice their opinion without been shot down?
I have nothing against having a ladies day nothing at all and all I suggested was that they should not have it in the middle of the winter.
