Integrity of the Claims

I got a good question : How can we the public trust the integrity of bookmaker claims (ie: are they real claims or just shortening ?) if we AREN'T EVEN ALLOWED A WEBSITE TO SEE THE CLAIMS ??
By shutting bookies.co.za down to the public, the bookmakers have ensured the public has no idea if horses that shorten are because of a claim or some other reason. (ie- 2k traded on interbet overnight)
This is farcical and opens the market to manipulation.

This topic was flogged to death when the site closed to Joe Public (back then) - unfortunately don't think it will ever re-open to JP again
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
