Hindsight is perfect sight - at the time there was no reason why JB should not have got in after running less than a neck behind Do You Remember

If you going to use one day as a yardstick then Run For It shouldn't have got a run??
Many horses ran below their best yesterday-Pirates said it best when he called it the "hangover"meeting-a lot of the horses were prepared for the first Sat in July!

Hangover for who? Maybe the owner and trainer ! The horse i doubt it , How hard is it to rest and freshen a fit horse for a big race ?

@ GG

Terence Millard the maestro won the July and Gold Cup with OCCULT and DEVON AIR, maybe IILUSTRADOR also ?

TECLA BLUFF won the July and then went on to win the Clairwood Winter Handicap as it was known in her next start less than a month later in July.

Good ole days back then !!!

I don't think we can compare TM to the majority of our current trainers apart fro MDK.

What great horses ,pity Jackson was not fit for the July as I am sure he could have added his name to this list !!

that might just be her form - Blueridge Mountain was beaten a similar distance by Louvre with Thunder Dance running close to both Jet Belle and Blueridge Mountain

Hard to be sure, but looking at the ratings achieved, I would say that JB ran 8 to 10 points below her rating - so imo I think she will bounce back

I could be completely off the mark here, but just my thinking, the track was in a horrid condition, and maybe it was the vodka talking but it seemed the inside of the track was much more favourable, so making ur run standside proved nearly impossible wrt jet belle
