There was a lot of rain earlier in the week , but the sun has been shining since Thursday afternoon and all looks good for tomorrow. The going is likely to be soft but there has been no racing on the course for 2 weeks so miracle man Dean Diedericks will have the course ready.
We have decided to give Princess Victoria a run in the Champagne Stakes before going off to stud to be covered by champion sire Silvano. She has travelled well from KZN a few weeks ago and although she has not had a grass gallop since the Garden Province, she sprinted up well during the week. She is re-united with Andrew Fortune and provided she copes with the softer going, we expect the combination to remain unbeaten and for her to get her 10th win here.
I have an interest in the second race, and Hancock's Dynasty should enjoy the extra and has an each way shout from pole position.
Sylvie has proved disappointing and gets another bad draw so no confidence there although she is game and will pick up a maiden win sometime.
Waterfall rounds out a busy day in the last. She has been punished 7lb for her good win at Durbanville and there are a lot of up and coming nice 3yo fillies in the race. She has an each way chance in a competitive field.

like this double
golconda + princess vic @ 14/1
golconda + princess vic @ 14/1
The best horse doesn't always win the race.

I also like Golconda - it's course and distance suited and seems best in soft conditions .
Last time it finished strongly onto the heels of the leaders when coming from way back and looked to have more to offer .

Played the double :-
Arion X Capricorn Ridge (Turf)
Arion X Capricorn Ridge (Turf)
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
