National Yearling Sale dates 2014
11 years 9 months ago
A question to all our loyal buyers and Clanners....we are finalising our sales dates for National Yearling Sale 2014 and I wanted to get some input into the dates.
Last year we sold on the Friday and Sunday with Champions Day on the Saturday.
This year I am looking at selling on Wednesday 23rd April, Thursday 24th April and Friday 25th April, leaving the weekend free - especially considering the Monday is a public holiday.
I would love to hear feedback on these proposed sales dates.
Is the clash with sand Vaal racing really an issue, it didn't seem to be at the National 2 year old sale.
All input appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

because of the long weekend with monday as a extra holiday I suggest Thursday , Friday , Sunday , just my opinion , the guys traveling will rather stay longer over long weekend than starting earlier.
Other concern is the amount of time you need to give for clients to come for pre-sale inspections of the yearlings , the serious guys will need more than just monday and tuesday to do a proper inspection of yearlings .
I been 2 days at the past 2yo sale and still couldn't finish my inspections in 2 days , and the amount of lots at the yearling sales are much more than the 2yo sale
It will also help for the guys coming only for the weekend to do inspections on saturday morning before sunday's final day rush
That is my input , you doing a fantastic job Tom

Thank you for the input....Definately as per your suggestion of wed, thurs, fri with an earlier start and finish on Friday so travelers can get home for the long weekend.....the 2 year old sale this year worked well
