gareth-bale_2576666bTottenham Hotspur have accepted a world record £86million bid from Real Madrid for Gareth Bale, according to the Daily Mail.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy signed off the move on Sunday night following talks with the directors at White Hart Lane, the newspaper claims.

Levy had returned to North London to watch his side’s 1-0 victory over Swansea City after talks with Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett and the club’s director of football Franco Baldini had concluded in Madrid, according to the report.

It’s understood by the paper that the decision to travel to the Spanish capital to meet with the Galacticos’ president Florentino Perez was part of a tactic to get the highest possible price for the Welsh winger.

End of a saga

According to the paper, the Welshman has signed a staggering £300,000-a-week six year contract.

The chairman, along with Barnett and Baldini, thrashed out the terms of the deal with Perez last week, and the talks will conclude with the signing of a final formal document, which is seen as a formality.

The North London club had hoped to bring in left back Fabio Coentrao as part of the package; however the Portuguese defender didn’t want to leave Spain, the paper added.

With the deal agreed, one of the transfer sagas of the summer appears to be finally nearing an end.

Bale is set to become the world’s most expensive player if the report is to be believed, beating the record set by Real in 2009 when they paid Manchester United £80million for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Spanish giants plan to officially unveil the former Southampton youngster on Tuesday, in a grand ceremony at the Bernabeu, according to the newspaper.(:P)

no need pulse, i now think that he will go to PSG as they will offer greedy Spurs more money and pay him more as he is not happy with £310k a week as he will only get out around £150k a week in Spain as the tax is 52% whereas in France the tax rate is lower.

True but the honest truth or fact is that he is by far the best player playing in the English Premier League currently. For a winger or wide player to score more than 20 goals in a season, for me he is up there with the best in the world.
