Racism in SA - Foreigners
11 years 9 months ago
Mahikeng - Three people were set alight during a business robbery in Mahikeng on Sunday, North West police said.
A shop owner, his sister, and his sister in law were burned in the shop Carrot King after they were robbed of money and cellphones, said Sergeant Kelebogile Moiloa.
Apparently, three men entered the Chinese-owned shop and demanded money from the owner.
Despite receiving the money, they poured petrol on the three people and set them alight.
They were taken to Bophelong hospital where they were fighting for their lives, said Moiloa.
Police were searching for the men.
>> This is a very worrying trend in SA. There seems to be a definite trend to target Non SA citizens or people deemed not to be of SA origin. this includes people from DRC, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and now Chinese/Asians

Indeed a worrying trend which has been discussed by South Africa First.
Like the colonialists of yore, most of these foreigners do not benefit the local community, stay aloof and pump profits out. The oft repeated reports of ANC cadres being restricted to their camps and not resorting to crime, scams, fake ID's, etc lends to xenophobic outbursts.
We shall be proposing that legal foreigners must abide by our country's laws, allocate at least 50% shares in their businesses to locals (not necessarily blacks!), and employ at least 70% South Africans. If one goes to the 'China Malls', the tenancy virtually excludes locals, the employees are mostly foreigners, and almost all their goods are imported; the circumstances surrounding their manufacture often open to questioning....even their importation. This impacts on our unemployment situation and industries.
By insisting on this sharing, foreigners can be assimilated within our society and seen as partners for mutual benefit....not one way!
We also state that we (South Africans) must change our mind set to be in control of what we support as consumers as the culture of self-entitlement has made us indolent and virtual beggars.
Herein, even the national chains must employ local people and, if necessary, support them for procurement. Right now, virtually every Pick n Pay, Shoprite and Makro has only African staff...no Indians, Coloureds or whites (like in most Government departments also!). Such employment policies (where previously it used to be whites only), polarises our people, lending to perpetuating mistrust, racial profiling and hatred.
BTW:
What we are concerned about is the thumb-suck figure of foreigners with fake South African ID's and who are eligible to vote. We are calling upon Parliament to carry out an investigation.

?......about 5 years ago Iwas at OR Tambo customs arrivals in the queue for local passports.....a Chinese guy in front of me was pulled out by security because when he was greeted by the passport officer he could not speak a word of english nor any of the 10 other official languages......we should not worry about who these people will be voting for ........but why are they here and who is assisting them to get fake documentation to come here?

2muhtiman:
Have you heard of the thousands who got their 'citizenship papers' in the old Transkei?
The chaps cannot tell you where is Mtata, which school they attended or speak a word of isiXhosa!
Those assisting them should be locked up for a minimum of 25 years and all their assets confiscated! This 'plea bargaining' is a mockery!
Plus the dockets that just 'disappear', drinking, gambling and crooked magistrates, etc.!
20 years of a mess up and a culture of self-entitlement?

......I'm all for cultural diversification and what happened in the past is of little concern......it is the present and future we should be worring about...... how can thousands and thousand more of non- South Africans be allowed to suck out the current infrastructure with very little contribution other than paying a tax to corrupt police and public officials.....yet when legitimate outsiders seek to come here and make applications through official channels they are given the royal run around until they grease the out streched palms of that very same taxation system......and all politcians worry about is who are they going to vote for.....FFS they are not coming here to vote.....:S

There is a pakistani guy that runs a little cellphone business next to my business, during a saps swoop last friday looking for illegal immigrants, he was arrested for having no documentation. Now I would of thought he would be deported rather than facing a trial. The laws of this country amaze me most of the time.

Like some Clanners, at least I have the guts to say it!
Besides, this is not a tirade; an honest response to a national, worrying situation...from whichever side.
I quote Steve Biko: 'The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed'.
He obviously referred to the 'apartheid' days. If so, I differ here in stating that today the oppressor is seen to be black...by many!
And I quote none other than Nelson Mandela:
'If the ANC does to you what the apartheid government did to you, then, you must do to the ANC what you did to the apartheid government'.
I will work towards a South African society that is void of racism, class distinctions, sexist or discriminatory in any way and (even if I don't agree), respect the concerns and anxieties of such victims...regardless..... for the greater good and unity of all citizens first!
My mind will not be shackled; it wasn't during the struggle days, it wont be now, or in the future!

In Qatar recently 3 foreign school going children were expelled from school due to serious misbehavior. Theri parents were called in and informed. No other schooll would accept these kids. Due to their being unschooled, the parents were asked to resign and leave the country as well.
Also in Qatar, if you a foreigner and your son finished his schooling and not furthering his studies and is over 18, your son must leave the country.
Now this is how you run a county
