In Full Flight

Herewith the article from Duffs the week after In Full Flights death - I will post details of his first race shortly.

When a postmortem was done it was found that he had a huge heart - if I remember correctly almost double the size that it should have been.

In Full Flight was purchased for just R 3 500,00

Maiden win under jockey George Davies, New Zealander I think who had a short style of riding.

Wonder if he is still alive, can remember his son S.Davies also became an appy and went back to NZ.

Love the David Payne with the full hair!!!

Turf on the track looked very even, can remember it looked magnificent back in the 7O's when first started punting on course.

Yeah Colins, with barrier 14 in a 1OOO mt dash at Greyville it was always going to be tough for Sentinel.

Absolutely flabbergasting to see 18 runners in a 2 yr old Maiden Plate over 1OOO mt at Greyville!!!

Quite a few of these went on to become good A and B div horses, like Charlie Brown, Full Stretch, Singing Scot etc.

Mike or any clanners - Does anyone remember a horse trained by the Passmore's - it may have been Charlie Brown but I don't think so - it had to be led out onto the track and then the jockey would mount and we would be treated to a 5 minute rodeo show before it would belt down to the start. I think they eventually started putting Joe Byrnes up and he seemed to get the better of the horse to a certain extent.

Can't recall yet, might have been Forest Drum?

Looking at the 4th placed horse in the July, it was the Oppenheimer owned and bred ANGELINA, what a good filly.
