Goodman you are accusing your fellow trainers of drip feeding their horses steriods to avoid
detection as there is a minimum legal amount allowed ,if anybody else made that comment
kzn,s spin doctor would have been insulting them to no end now,so its obviously true,
so why dnt you post the proof as you expect from anybody else who posts?

boys let us no be silly about these steroids. james will tell you they have been with the trainers for decades now, the solution is very simple. have the no skin puncture rule for trainer and let the nhra be the only authority for race horse vet like hong kong.solution is simple. the question is do the nhra have ability to do this? i now answer

Creating a rule doesn't necessarily solve the problem.......the NHA have a number of their own rules they ignore!

until we have an independant nhra funded by themselves like the one in britian it will continue to be toothless and incompetent....gold circle and phumelela pay their salaries so they will bow down to their paymasters...answer one simple question if what happened in the uk to mohamed al zarooni and godolphin horses had to occur in sa would we have the same outcome?it would have never ever come out in public and would be swept under the carpet as a result of what i wrote before......

The NHRA Allow the drip feeding of Anabolic steroids under their rules, but is this fair? I have always maintained they are bad for the horse and bad for racing. Therefore if that is correct they should be banned. The proof is on the vet account ! It says conditioner. And u don't have to be Sooooo Dum to see that (

that's something I would like to know - I know of trainers that say "lets give the horse a steroid course and not race it for three months to strengthen it up" Is this legal? The horse has no medical problem and the steroid is just to build up muscle.

Why create a grey area, just ban steriods. Finished and klaar. If steriods are needed for a life threatening treatment, then the necessary permission must be recieved.

I really wonder how much damage is done to healthy animals with limited ability that are given roids - unless there is a medical reason ban the use

BANNING anabolic steroids from horseracing is fundamental to the sport's growth, according to one leading official.
Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, chief executive officer of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, on Friday backed comments made in Paris this week by International Federation of Horseracing Authorities chairman Louis Romanet who said "anabolic steroids have no place in racing and should not be permitted in and out of competition".

Complete harmonisation of rules on steroids - particularly their off-track use - in all jurisdictions is unlikely, although the BHA is seeking a three-month stand-down period for horses who have been treated.
Engelbrecht-Bresges, who is also vice chairman of the IFHA, said horseracing's credibility with the wider public is at risk if it does not employ a "zero-tolerance policy" when it comes to the use of anabolic steroids.
"The removal of anabolic steroids in horseracing across the world is key to the continued international growth of the sport at the highest level," he said.
"I hope that this confirmation of the IFHA's position is a further step on the road towards full harmonisation on this issue across the world."
The use of steroids has been the subject of much controversy and discussion since the BHA handed an eight-year suspension to former Godolphin trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni in the spring.
