Very interesting article. We should all by now be aware that P's primary concern is to make money for their shareholders and currently one of the ways they are trying to do that is to run horse racing 'operations' - and therefor it makes sense from their point of view to try and squeeze every last drop of profit from these 'operations' - including selling off assets which in their view is not strategic in remaining profitable in the long run. And assuming there are rather shrewed business people in control, surely they would be fully aware of the future impact of their current actions?

From 'horse racing's point of view, this is certainly worry - and so from someone 'outside the inner circle', it is certainlly worrying that 'Cape racing' decided it was in their best interests to join P. Why have they been unable to run racing without incurring losses alll these years? Is it simly impossible to run racing profitibally (without getting into debt to a corporate godfather) ? Is there some other (win-win) way ?
