I think there was only officially 6 vendors buy backs,compaired with 16 last year.... not sure

Well, the one horse can potentially run in the RTR cup, the other not.

It costs the vendor/partnership around 13% of the selling price in commissions, plus around R7000 (not sure about the price this year) entry payable on purchase. And the vendor obviously miss out on the sale income. So it's not a "free" entry into the race.

I still don't see a problem with this.

A not sold can still be sold either through a buy back in which the vendor can still pay the entry fee or a late buyer can still negotiate with the TBA and vendor......in the past Imbongi was a not sold and a deal put together with the nessisary RTR race entry credentials way after the sales.....;)

what stands out for me is

18/30 of the not solds from summerhill

about 8 million of the 47 million was from Imported horses on the sale.

my fancy lot 78 went for 250 to form bloodstock
