Ok so here is my take. She won her debut in Canada beating the boys quite easily in a GR2 event ON GRASS. She shipped to Keeneland and won her 2nd start against fillies in a GR 1 on SYNTHETIC. She is quite small but has one smooth and elastic stride on her.
My concern would be that if she goes in the big fillies race on dirt at Santa Anita if she will be quite as effective? Normally smallish fillies struggle a little on dirt but this one has such a big engine that it would be hard to imagine her having any issues?
Ok so enough of the negatives. She got squeezed at the break and raced last for the first 2 furlongs. She got checked heading out onto the back stretch and got caught behind a mountain of horses in front of her. Every time her rider switched her out or around other fillies or put her into a hole she simply accelerated like she had done it a million times before. That is a real good sign for me.
I would need to see what other dirt fillies she goes up against if indeed she does choose that spot. Perhaps the turf race would be a better option for her?
Let's wait and see.
Thanks for the link Easy!
