There seems to be enormous depth in the ranks of the 3yo colts in Cape Town this year, together with some top class visitors. Am really looking forward to the season.
Amongst these 33 noms we have
Captain of All, winner of the Tsogo Sun Medallion gr1, and 3rd placed in that race Captains Rreserve.
Red Ray, unbeaten in CT and runner up in the Gr 1 SA Nursery at Turffontein
Zambezi Torrent, listed race winner and recently 2nd to CT Noir in the Kuda Insurance Matchem gr3
Strongman, listed race winner
Ace Antonius, 2nd in Gr 2 and winner of the R1m KZN race
Antonius du Bois has won 2 x Gr 3 juvenile races
Flash Drive, Gr3 Cape Nursery winner.
Recent, improving, impressive winners Sagetator, Power King, De Kock, Arion, Sail South to name but a few
Eternal Jet, out of Easyjadeeasy (half sister to Elusive Fort) is an interesting runner to "keep it in the family".
Good to see Dennis Drier in CT to defend the title (Chave de Oura last year) as well as Gavin van Zyl on the list.

Kenilworth Racing’s Summer of Champions
Kenilworth Racing Media Release
29 October 2013
The intention of combining quality racing with charitable initiatives was met on Saturday with the running of the Elusive Fort Cape Classic and successful fund-raising for Cape Town Child Welfare.
Red Ray’s assertive win on opening day of Summer of Champions stamps him as a potential rising star. He put in a towering performance to sidle home from rivals that are by no means sluggards. Legislate, de Kock and top weight Antonius du Bois are quality thoroughbreds only to be treated with disdain by the striking Western Winter colt.
Attention was also captured by the innovative jockey’s race held to entertain on course fans. Aldo Domeyer did his best Usain Bolt impersonation, flashing past Richard Fourie to clinch the 100 m scurry. The race raised essential funds for the Cape Town Child Welfare society.
At the opening of a well located and stylish new Racing Association facility in the revived grandstand, an announcement was made indicating that prominent owner Sabine Plattner had helped swell the donation to Child Welfare. This year, stable jockey Domeyer had won the Met in her silks on Martial Eagle at Kenilworth, and she generously added R100 00 to the R16 000 raised in the Jockeys Sprint.
It was a compassionate way to set in motion the Summer of Champions. Bearing witness to meritorious performances on track is always a pleasure, but the sense of renewal as improved facilities were unveiled and the generosity embodied by charitable motives of considerate racing supporters are also laudable.
Kenilworth Racing looks forward to day 2 of the Summer of Champions, the Choice Carriers raceday on 9 November.
