"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Friday 7th March Workings...

Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows....
The 1st runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 2.86 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.8 max. The lay battled well to win a battling finish, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.4, and with being a big 3.9 on arrival and not coming near our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won a battling and close finish, so a nice priced winner (returned 9/4, touched 11.4!), but more importantly a good leave........
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 2.62 on arrival and just getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner unseated rider (soft unseat to be fair, and I'm sure plenty will cry 'foul play'!) when still in with every chance, so shame we didn't see our lay price, and 'one that got away in hindsight'.....
The 4th runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 2.94 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.94. The lay was beaten after a battle, so a good result.........
The 5th runner we wanted 3.3, and with getting that and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The lay had it's task made easier when a main danger fell at the first, but won well and so the way it goes............
The 6th runner we wanted 2.5, but a non runner and 5.9% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.41. The price had drifted big to around 5.0 on arrival, and never came down anywhere near our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was easily beaten and never looked like winning to be fair, so the big drift more than justified,(Hmm) and 'one that got away in hindsight'...........
The 7th runner we wanted 3.3, and with getting that on arrival, we had a lay at 3.3. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 and slightly beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten after a battle, so a good result.......
The 8th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 2.82 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result........
The 9th runner we wanted 2.6, but a non runner and 10% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.44. The price was around 2.56 on arrival and never dropped down to us at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten and so unfortunate the price never dropped that bit more, and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 10th runner we wanted 2.6, and with being around 2.2 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at 2.2 max. The lay had to work hard, but got the win and so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........
The 11th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 2.0 on arrival and not coming down to us at an stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so very frustrating that our price never dropped, but that's the game and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 12th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 1.76 on arrival, we had a lay at around 1.76. The lay was beaten after a dramatic and scary end to the race! and 'if' he had of won, then we'd have been cursing our rotten luck. Anyhow, went well and a good result.........
The 13th runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.52 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner ran a dreadfully poor race and was beaten, so a strange day continues and 'one that got away in hindsight'.........
The 14th and final runner we wanted 1.16, and with being around 1.26 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner had to work, but got the win, so sanity back to end the day and a good leave........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED..................(2 from the first 2 (100%) went and won - 3 from the first 5 (60%) went and won - So a very tough start, but we all came through ok enough in the end with too many drifters thrown in to boot)
'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) ended level.............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a dour battle they went to their 5th and final lay (the 8th runner) needing a little to recoup, and got it, so finished level.............They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 10th runner, and after a poor result, they then broke level on their 2nd lay (the 12th runner) and with then a no bet, it left them level with just one potential lay left, so always advised to take the levels with no room at all for error, so levels it ends.......
Strategy/target players (bank builders) had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.8 max, but a poor result see them go behind early.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.94, and a good result see them win a chunk back..............Then came their 3rd lay (the 5th runner) at 3.3, but a poor result see them go more behind again.........Then came a 'free' lay (the 7th runner) that bought a tiny profit...........Then they had their 4th lay (the 8th runner) at 2.7 max, and a good result see 4 runner builders break level.........
5 runner builders needed a little bit more to recoup, and they went to their 5th lay (the 10th runner) at 2.2 max, but a poor result see them concede 0.7 at the very worst...

Traders had to concede a little on the 5th runner at 3.3, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, so in the end they walk away levels, or a little up...
So a tough start to the day, and mix that with drifters doing us no favours etc, and it was a tricky day. Anyhow, all either won a bit, drew level, or lost a little, so no harm done and we look ahead to tomorrow. Funny day wasn't it??? Speak in the morning guys...
Marc.
