"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Saturday 8th March Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows....

The 1st runner we wanted 2.9, and with being around 2.96 on arrival and the dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.9 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.2 and beyond, so now a chance for traders, and builders, to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade won well, so the way it goes, but glad of the drift now.........

The 2nd runner we wanted 3/2, and with drifting to around 3.6 on arrival and not coming back down to us, we had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to race players to the punch. Grr! early traders happy though......

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.4, but a non runner and 11.4% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.24. The price was a well supported 1.96 on arrival, and and so we had a lay at around 1.96. The lay went and won a dour battle to the line, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

The 4th runner we wanted 2.4, and with being around 2.56 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner never looked happy, and was never a factor to be honest, so strange and 'one that got away in hindsight'.......

The 5th runner we wanted 2.44, and with being a well supported 2.08 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.08. The lay was nicely beaten, so gamble foiled and a good result........

The 6th runner we wanted 3.45, but a non runner and 5.4% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.32 (3.0 nearest exchange price). The price had drifted to around 4.0 on arrival and although came down, never came down enough and so we had to avoid the race. The runner got beat after a photo finish, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! early traders happy though.......

The 7th runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 1.74 on arrival and although coming close, we never see see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so good discipline pays off this time, and a good leave........

The 8th runner we wanted 2.0, and with being around 1.96 on arrival and getting slightly shorter, we had a lay at around 1.96. The lay went and won without too much fuss, so hats off and the way it goes.........

The 9th runner we wanted 3.5, but a non runner and 8.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.29 (3.3 nearest exchange price). The price was a well supported 2.96 on arrival, so we had a lay at 2.96. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 (was 3.8 before reductions) and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result......

The 10th runner we wanted 2.94, but a non runner and 11.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.71 (2.7 nearest exchange price). The price was around 3.1 on arrival and then dropped down to us and slightly beyond, so we had a lay at 2.7 max. The race was then abandoned due to the state of the track, so on to the next runner.......

The 11th and final runner we wanted 2.94, and with being around 3.85 on arrival and just getting bigger and bigger, we had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...............(2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 4 from the first 8 (50%) went and won - and 5 from the 10 in total (50% 1nr)so a tough start, but we did all we could and walked away ok in the end)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede 0.3 of a target at worst............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then recouped nearly all on their final lay (the 9th runner) and so with 50% winning today, that's a decent effort.....

Bank builder strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) which only bought relief..........They then had their 1st lay (the 3rd runner) at 1.96, but a poor result see them go behind early........They then had their 2nd lay (the 5th runner) at 2.08, and a good result see them win a very big chunk back............They then had their 3rd lay (the 8th runner) at 1.96, but a poor result see them go behind again.........They then had a 'free' lay (the 10th runner) that bought a tiny profit..............and that's where they ended, so 0.9 of a target conceded..

Bank builders 4 runner strategy. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £400

1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 1.96. Result negative. Lose £96

Total bank now £304

2nd lay £101 to recoup as much of the £96 @ 2.08. Result positive. Win £93

Total bank now £397

3rd lay £198 to recoup the £3, plus go for the £100 target (as need less than 10% of target to recoup) @ 1.96. Result negative. Lose £99

Total bank now £298

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10

Total bank now £308

That's where it ended.

Overall result. Concede 0.9 of a target

***********************************

Bank builder 5 runner strategy. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £400

1st lay £80 to win as much of the £100 target @ 1.96. Result negative. lose £80

Total bank now £320

2nd lay £80 to recoup as much of the £80 @ 2.08. Result positive. Win £74

Total bank now £394

3rd lay £131 to recoup the £6, plus go for the £100 target (as recoup under 10% of target) @ 1.96. Result negative. Lose £102

Total bank now £292

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10

Total bank now £302

That's where it ended.

Overall result. Concede 0.9 of a target

Traders had to concede a little on the 8th runner at 1.96, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, so all in all they made a little and well played...

So another tricky day with 50% winning, but we did the best we could and in the end it wasn't a bad effort to lose a little, or make a little. Have a good evening and speak in the morning......

That's what we have to work on for this afternoon then. Not easy, but we have enough within our armoury to go into battle, so with discipline to the maximum, and taking advantage of any prices that come our way, we'll hope value wins the session as it certainly does over a period of time. Good luck and speak soon with the results mail, and this evening's workings (rest of wolver card, if worth it)....
