Marking Our Tracks with Meters Left

Why arent our turf tracks marked at the 200m 100m from finish on the turf ? Its not a major issue but it would give viewers and punters a better sense of the distance to go, adding to the excitement. Probably a little more work for track staff but im sure it wont set them back in budget or schedule.
Hoping that this thread reaches somebody who can make the suggestion to the right people.

Never seen that on any racecourse, probably because the lines would distract the horses like they jump paths and shadows

Markers are up, both sides of every course. Lines on the course/surface would cause many horses to jump them.

i have a 3d tv but very seldom watch as they only have one dedicated channel. I watched Avatar and a couple of football matches (the football uses different cameras so you only get about 5 different angles as opposed to the many more that you get when you are watching on HD.)
