Vaal Tuesday Nov 5th
11 years 7 months ago
Just a "reminder" should anyone wish to use it... I believe they race on the Vaal inner tomorrow for the first time in a while. When looking at the recent form it may be worth remembering that high draws were favoured on the Vaal outer course in at least the last 3 meetings there, those on and after Sept 17th. This is obviously not a forecast for a draw advantage tomorrow, merely something to perhaps be aware of when looking at the form (tu)

It used to be that inside draws were best at the inner course while the outer course favoured outside draws. Is that still the case? ( I mean in general of course......on any one given day anything can obviously happen )

Having a bet on Fulcrum in Race 6, two reasons, I see it is a nominee for the Victory Moon Stakes, so I think it would have to win tomorrow if it wants to make the final field, and secondly, the way they have priced up for the race tomorrow, 6/1 bar one. Prepared to take my chances on that alone.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I'm with you on this one. The best bet on the card for me.

Pivitol pursuit in race 7 also looks like a good bet. Only Sammy Silver with Striker up to worry about.
Although badly drawn I like Ash cloud in race 5. Olimpic Spring back to 1800m look a live thread.

If you want a third reason, he finished 2.25l ahead of Spitfire Run (drawn 9/9) in his last run receiving 6kgs. Albeit in Sept last year, Rocco's Luck, 2nd fav here, was beaten 1.75l by SR receiving 5kgs. Both runs were over 1600 (this is 1700). That puts Fulcrum 4l ahead receiving 1kg from RL (I think lol) but RL is actually giving Fulcrum 7kgs and coming off a 15 week rest. Obviously, they all may have had fluctuations in form etc but it still does the case for Fulcrum no harm imo
