Contador a stand out bet... Grade 1 winner taking on rather mediocre horses... Marcus up for the ride.

Started already early in the afternoon my studies finished. Here is my findings.
Race 1: Shepherds song my first choice with that dangerous trainer/ jockey combination. Although not well drawn, Striker will know what to do to place it in the right place at the right time. Of the others Google it, won't take it lying down. A Nice exacta bet. Selazar is drawn in pole position and can fill a minor place. 6x7x1x8
Race 2: Magic Smoke beaten Uncle Tommy and Formation and must be watched , could steal the race. Uncle Tommy and Formation very talented and must both have a winning chance. I'll go for a Striker double here!! Troubled Waters and Straw Market can fill the minor placings.
5 x 1 x 4 x 3
Race 3: Undercover Cat will be hard to beat here!!!! All in the mind and Eagle High could fill the minor placings.
7 x 5 x 4 x 3
Race 4: Wrap Me Up is ready to shine and done very well on her last two runs on the sand. Mighty Mo and Soft Sand will be the main dangers.
4 x 1 x 6 x 7
Race 5 : Interesting race between two good sorts. Levanto and Dual Allaince. I prefer Dual Alliance to win this. Norgay is lightly raced and can improve rapidly. Chedwin Park can earn place money.
2 x 3 x 5 x 8
Race 6: Anton Marcus got only one ride for the day," Condrador". Looking at the form it could be the right horse in this race. Nice Stride and Hang Fire also in with a shout.Cookie Monster can fill a decent place.
3 x 5 x 4 x 9
Race 7: One of the most difficult races on the card. It won't surprise me to see a rank outsider winning this. Shiver and Shake is drawn in the inside and Khumalo will give her all the chances she could get.Zenas own , Tacit Tiger, Fortress Mine all do have chances. Caution is advised.
5 x 9 x 3 x 4
Race 8: Estancia gets my vote to win this. El Manolete, Chipnputt, Sugar ray all have chances. And my real ruffy for this race watch Dare to be grand!!!!
4 x 14 x 2 x 1 x 9
Play well Guys and make buckets full of money!!!
Winning bets;
Race 1: Shepherds Song
Race 3: Undercover Cat
Race 4: Wrap me uo
Race 6: Contrador
Value bet: Dare to be Grand

A few jottings...
R1 Shepherd's Song is clearly liked by LG and with Striker retaining the ride could be the right one today but his 11 draw is a big concern, especially as he tries the extra 200 for the first time. Google It could give him most to do. Selezar, if not needing the run following a 17 week rest, has a chance from the 1 box and Siamese Fighter could be contesting the minor places. The one that tweaked my interest though is Sula. I am no expert by any means (more fool than expert lol) but I don't remember the stable sending out many first timers on the sand and this is a R350k horse who seems to have a decent chance of taking to the sand on breeding, worth taking an e/w chance around 20s?.. Sula x Shepherd's Song x Google It x Selezar (5 x 6 x 7 x 1)
R2 I'm with Formation, Straw Market the unknown danger on the surface... Formation x Uncle Tommy x Magic Smoke x Straw Market (4 x 1 x 5 x 3)
R3 The fav looks little value to me and I would rather be on Eagle High e/w who ran well off a 35 week rest lto and has a good record at c and d. Eagle High x Flight Zone x Undercover Cop x Tomorrow's Miss (5 x 1 x 7 x 2)
R4 This may be a poor field but even so, Mighty Mo looks to me to be plenty short enough in the market for a horse that has to date seemingly struggled somewhat going further than 1200. The blinkers may have helped lto and so she could improve back over 1450 but not a risk I would take at the current odds. Wrap Me Up improved lto over 150 further but that was a weak field and there are others at bigger prices I would rather chance... Rainbow Warbler was second in his only c run albeit beaten 12.5l and the rest were a mediocre bunch but could be involved, Cash Back has the 1 box and on breeding could enjoy the surface. Lady Casey has a decent draw in 4 and was supported from 25s into 10s on debut when a poor start ruined her chances, if she gets away better then she might be competitive. The one I'll go with though is Mogok's Express who on breeding might take to the surface, her turf form is not the worst and this is not a great field, the 11 draw is a concern though so I will definitely be having a little on the aforementioned bigger priced ones... Mogok's Express x Wrap Me Up x Rainbow Warbler x Cash Back (3 x 4 x 2 x 5)
R5 Real toss up for me between the front two in the market and in the end I marginally preferred Dual Alliance. I was on Tilman lto at a huge price and if there is to be an upset then he could be the one to surprise. He is now on 3rd run after a rest having finished lame in his effort 3 runs back. Prior to that he was for the most part consistently thereabouts and he plugged on well lto in a competitive field and was only 2.75l off the runner-up... Dual Alliance x Levanto x Chedwin Park x Tilman (2 x 3 x 8 x 4)
R6 Strongest win fancy of the day... Contador x Nice Stride x Escape Clause x Hang Fire (3 x 4 x 6 x 5)
R7 Zaki and Lerena in form, good draw in 4, breeding indicates a good possibility of enjoying the sand and all that leads me to preferring to take an e/w chance on Fortress Mine. Plenty of others in with shouts, if the price drifts on Dalalaat then I am likely to nibble and the same might be true of Lizzy Grey with the drop in d though the jury has to remain open on her... Fortress Mine x Shiver 'n Shake x Tacit Tiger x Dalalaat (3 x 5 x 6 x 2)
R8 An esteemed clanner-colleague ( (tu) ) had an inkling for Chipnputt lto. I did not lol and he was right and I was wrong, not for the first time!
CnP put in a much better effort than I expected from a wide draw, and I am happy to take a chance on him this time despite another poor draw. El Manolete the main concern from the 2 box. Estancia has something to prove for me. Dare To Be Grand definitely not without hope and for a value e/w then I'll chance Atrochen if the price drifts... Chipnputt x El Manolete x Atrochen x Dare to Be Grand (2 x 1 x 10 x 14)
Be(s)t of luck to all (tu)
