Drastic change in tote will pays after the race closed::o

......I still do not understand how and why there is a drastic change in will pays and final payout AFTER RACE IS RUN.....now in the last race at Flamingo I wanted to check the will pays on a swinger 3X10 before result was posted and although the favourite swinger will pays showed the race as closed and the horses had already completed the race this dividend was not displayed at all and the only swinger will pay dividend containing the 10 horse was 9x10.....next I go to results and see that 3X10 is only R14-20.....go back to the swinger will pays and all will pay swingers swingers have shortened to a point where a further 3 swinger dividends containing the 10 horse are now displayed in the favourite will pays and the will pay swinger 9x10 had reduced by more than 25%......there were no late scratchings so why the drastic reduction.....:S

I've seen the same....it used to be blamed on updates etc....with the bandwidth and systems available today....I would think it should be negligible....

?.....had a good think about it......can only be that there are still major bet cancellations .......in now local swinger pools too......

What's a bet cancellation? (Surely not what I think ... that would be illegal.)

It's not illegal but the tote is a machine and can be manipulated by humans.
I had a visit to the tote a few years back and was not impressed by the late cancelled bets during the running and overseas bets being added to the pool, not sure if it has improved but always someone trying to beat the system.
Andre West was the expert and there has to be a freeze point to make it secure ( has to be before the off)

You have approximately 5 seconds after the gates opened to cancel a ticket or tickets. The manipulators wait until the very last moment to cancel hence the impact is only visible or updated a few seconds after the horses have crossed the winning post.

.....if this is the case then I believe that this practice will continue unabaited as sceamers are a plenty ....and are manipulating tote odds because it is most likely they are taking on the bookies offering tote odds.....or the converse a betting lounge or outlet were a bookie may be laying off on the tote to reduce exposure....:

The crux of the matter is that the tote odds displayed cannot be an accurate guide for the tote/tote odds punter....

It's always been the case especially on small pools where a grand can make any runner a money on shot irrelevant of its form or chance of winning the race.
I certainly miss the fixed odds being displayed as watching the fluctuations on a tote board is worthless.
