We are clean in SA Rob- only happens in Mauritius, Hong Kong, England, Australia, USA etc - I wonder if they still use VHS tapes at NHRA head quarters to review races?

Or maybe they still have small screens to watch the races - much like rugby's TV refs - they always seem to have to make close calls based on what the can see on a small monitor - why don't they get bigger screens ?

If you read the rules they quote, the mind boggles.................It would seem that jockeys that have the opportunity for a clear run but choose to weave through traffic, and consequently have to check, would qualify for as much as 3 months, for example..................slack,careless,incompetent ?????????

Jock with the white body and blue cap on the horse with blinkers should get life ! Our racing might not be straight but I cannot recall such a crooked ride.

The MTC certainly have their own way of deciding when to act. In the nineties jockey Boutanive was susupended for a much longer time, a year if I recall correctly. He offered to tell the cops and the MTC the names of the people involved in race fixing in Mauritius...and they did squat....
Aaaahhhh, Mauritian racing, you gotta love it boet !

I wonder what they would make of "gagging" your horse after 30m and then going so slow that half the field are pulling their mounts heads off - Where does that happen? Cape Town in any stayers race - or they let one horse go 10 lengths clear and then when there's 400m to go they start riding like men possessed and wonder why they get beat - I'm convinced that most of the UK Jumps races are run at a faster pace than those Cape farces - Sometimes I think the stipes have the monitors turned off for the Stayers events
