It has come to the attention of the South African Jockey Academy that a certain journalist has caused to be circulated an email in which she (the journalist) made some allegations about an incident that occurred at the Academy. The Academy would like to give a preliminary explanation of the incident.
On 3 December 2013 the Principal was informed that a 23 year old apprentice, whose indentures had previously come to an end, had spent the previous night (but no time previous to that) alone in the spare room of the residence of a riding master.
On 4 December 2013 the Academy prepared a notification for the riding master in question to attend an enquiry, convened to establish the veracity and circumstances of the information. Once the enquiry has been completed, the Academy will be in a position to comment further. The riding master has, in the meantime, taken a leave of absence from the Academy.

Must be a misunderstanding ?
