Kempton Summary

Race 1 – 3:50 – Don Silvey 70th Birthday Handicap – class 7 – 3yo+(0-50) – 7f

Medam comes into this in form having finished 3rd on her last 2 starts. She is capable of winning off this mark but she has to prove she likes this track. She has yet to put in a good run in 3 attempts. Foie Gras is a 15 race maiden that has claims on his best form but is hard to back for win purposes. Daneside (IRE) is starting to look very well treated on his best form and comes into this having been running with credit over inadequate trips. He is one to note in the betting as strong support could be significant. Bryant Park (USA) is interesting on his handicap debut. He hasn’t shown much in 2 maidens and he had little chance against some decent opposition last time in a claimer. He is by Street Cry so should have no problems with the surface. The only slight negative is the draw but he could be the e/w value nevertheless. Kai is very well treated on his best form but he would make more appeal if it was at Wolverhampton. A very weak race that won’t take much winning. Bryant Park could be the value in the race but are going to take a chance on Daneside at 5/1

Race 2 – 4:20 – Dine In The Panoramic Maiden Auction Stakes – class 6 – 2yo – 7f

Cinquenta Pasos (IRE) has placed on both starts here over 6f. The form is nothing special and it is debatable whether he progressed from his 1st run. The step up in trip may help and he is one to consider. Isabella Beeton went of a big price on debut but ran a big race finishing 2nd over course and distance. The form is working out and she rates as the one to beat. Island Kingdom (IRE) sets the standard but it isn’t a very high one and he is beginning to look exposed. He is by no means a no hoper but he is vulnerable to something progressive. L Ge R didn’t cost a lot of money but she isn’t without ability. She comes into this after finishing 4th here over a mile. The drop back in trip isn’t a problem but handicaps look more where her future lies. selection is Isabella Beeton at -/-

Race 3 – 4:50 – Betvictor Non-Runner Free Bet Cheltenham 2014 Median Auction Maiden Stakes – class 6 – 3-5yo – 1m4f

Wilhanna (IRE) has found one too good on all 4 starts. She has left Roger Varian and makes her debut for a new yard stepped up in trip. She is sure to give her running but she is likely to find one too good again. Kingston Eucalypt is the highest rated horse in the race and comes into this on the back of her best run yet last time at Lingfield and her run over course and distance 2 runs back is working out. She is not one to put maximum faith in but she is one of the more likely types. Lateral Thinking (IRE) has some decent form when in Ireland but has to bounce back from a poor run last time at Southwell on debut for this yard. He is stepped up in trip which looks a positive on breeding. Phospherescence (IRE) was tailed off on debut in a decent Newmarket maiden in May. He is bred to be better than these and it will be interesting to how he fares in the betting on the back of a break. He will have his supporters because of connections but it will take a leap of faith to back him on the back of that debut. think this is between Kingston Eucalypt and Lateral Thinking with slight preference for Lateral Thinking

Race 4 – 5:20 – Cheltenham 2014 NRFB At Betvictor.com Nursery Handicap – class 4 – 2yo(0-85) – 6f

Nova Princesse (GER) is up 6lb for her course and distance win last time. This is tougher but she is progressive and she needs to be considered. Sunset Shore is a game and consistent horse but she has had her limitations exposed. She is sure to give her running but she is likely to find one or two of these too good. Expect found only subsequent Grp 2 winner Al Thakira too good on debut and readily got off the mark next time at Wolverhampton. She was expected to run better last time in a Listed race at Newmarket but she may of had excuses that the soft ground didn’t suit. She is bred to be smart and she is bred to act at this track and she is one to consider. Porteous was denied a 3 timer in a bunched finish last time at Wolverhampton. He is a course and distance winner that is ahead of his mark. He achieved a big speed figure last time that would win this hands down but that was at Wolverhampton and his figures at Kempton are not as good. A tricky race to call as a repeat of Porteous last run would make him difficult to oppose but the one to beat is Expect at 5/2

Race 5 – 5:50 – Back Of The Net At Betvictor.com Nursery Handicap – class 6 – 2yo(0-60) – 1m

Chanceuse won a Lingfield seller and has run consistently since. She is sure to give her running with counts for something in this grade but she has had her limitations exposed and is likely to find one or two too good again. Starlight Princess (IRE) backed up her 3 runs back at Wolves with a win here over 7f. The form has worked out well with Fiftyshadesfreed winning next time. She was beaten last time of her revised mark back at Wolves but a return to this venue is a postive. She needs to prove she gets a mile and her sire has yet to have a winner over course and distance. Plough Boy (IRE) finished a length behind Starlight Princess last time. He is still lightly raced and open to further improvement. He is weighted to reverse the form and is one to watch for if the money arrives. Dutchartcollector has shaped with promise on all 3 runs. He makes his handicap debut of what could be a lowly mark. He is stepped up in trip which should suit and he is another to note for if the money arrives as they don’t often leave it behind. Artemis is a half sister to Masta Plasta and although it is unlikely she is going to turn out that good she isn’t devoid of ability. She has shown promise in her maiden runs and is another making her handicap debut of what could be a lowly mark. She is stepped up in trip which could suit her sire Marju has a 16.95% s/r over course and distance with his progeny. Plough Boy and Dutchartcollector are both set to run well but the e/w value in the race is Artemis at 20/1

Race 6 – 6:20 – Download The Betvictor APP Now Handicap – class 2 – 3yo+(0-100) -1m

Captain Cat (IRE) is up 9lb for his course and distance win last time which will make life tougher but the form is rock solid with the race working out very well. He will take some beating if able to repeat his last run. String Theory (IRE) was progressing nicely until putting in a shocker when last seen in the Brittania. His win came over course and distance which was impressive and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the betting on his first start for 6 months. Stasio (USA) was unfancied last time on his first start for almost a year. He is sure to have come on for the run and he is one to consider. He finished in front of Roserrow last time and he is set to confirm the form. George Guru is a course and distance winner that has 4 1/2l to find with Captain Cat when they last met. He is weighted to get closer and another that will give his running but he looks to have nothing in hand of his current mark. Dixies Dream (IRE) is a course and distance winner that comes here on the back of a win. He is far from ruled out but he will need to improve to get involved here. Captain Cat will be hard to beat if in the same form as last time but going to take a chance on Stasio at 9/2

Race 7 – 6:50 – Betvictor.com Non-Runner FreeBet Cheltenham 2014 Handicap – class 3 – 3yo+(0-95) – 7f

Loyalty is up 3lb for his narrow course and distance win last time out hanging on grimly to beat Clockamker (IRE) by a neck. They re-oppose with Clockmaker 2lb better off and there should be little between them again. A big run from George Guru in the previous race will be a boost for either chances. Verse Of Love has been generally stuggling for form having been run over trips that stretch his stamina. He is starting to look well treated again and he could go pillar to post now dropped in trip. Favourite Treat (USA) looked a horse to follow but has been below par of late and it is hard to see him reversing form with half the field. Upavon sprang a massive shock last time out over course and distance winning at 33/1. He is only up 2lb and looks sure to go close again if able to back up that run. The form to concentrate on is Clockmakers and Loyalty’s with the 2lb swing in the favour just enough to make a difference. selection is Clockmaker at 13/2
