I think his main mission is the Met as well - 1600 not his best trip and drawn wide - I think they are looking for a strong finish running into 4h maybe :S

Striker was riding him last time as well - has been pulling and they need to sort that out - for me his best races has come when running on from well back (Daily News and July), so from a wide draw I think the tactics will be to try and settle him near the back and come with a flying finish - I think he needs to be in the first 5 to have chance of making the Met field (and if he gets in he could be the surprise factor in that race)

With Red Ray and Royal Zulu Warrior in the field I think there will be a good pace up front - the prevailing wind on the day could play a part in the outcome of the race :S

1600m may not be Jacksons best distance, BUT he has run freakishly good races behind VC over this disance and his 2nd in the 1200m race was op draw. He will shit in

Why on earth would the connections of any horse run a breather in the Queen's Plate? One can run a breather in a Pinnacle Plate.

I would not say they are 'prep' runs, but imo for some the real target would be the Met - imo; I'm not a trainer, but I would have thought it is not easy to have your horse peaking for a race (QP) and then have him / her still at peak 3 weeks later (Met) :S Red Rake probably the exception as I don't think he is entered for the Met (too lazy to check it now), but is he good enough at this stage of his career - only the race will show, but I have my doubts; also I'm not sure if RZW's connections really believe that he has chance over the 2000 (fair run in the Summer Cup), or if he is going to go all out in the QP :S

Nope, won a few times down the Clairwood straight though - and surely the trainer would have galloped him either at Kenilworth or somewhere around a left-hand turn :S

I don't think any of these horse can beat jackson on level weights.
And Red Ray gives Jackson 5kgs, which I think is still not enough, as I still feel Red Ray is best over 1200m-1400m. 1600m is a stretch
