"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Saturday 15th March Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows.........

The 1st runner we wanted 3.7, and with getting around 3.55 on arrival, we had a lay at 3.55. The price then drifted out to our own price of 4.0 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was nicely beaten, so a good result.....

The 2nd runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 2.16 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner came in 2nd, so it was 'one that got away in hindsight'..........

The 3rd runner we wanted 3.5, and with drifting to around 3.75 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was a gallant 2nd, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though........

The 4th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 4.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.19. There was then another withdrawal and further 9.1%, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.99. The price had drifted to around 3.1 on arrival, and never came back down to us, so again race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so again the drift beat race to race players to the punch. Grr!. Early traders happy again though.........

The 5th runner we wanted 2.96, but a non runner and 3.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.9. The price was around 2.6 on arrival, so we had a lay at 2.6. There was then another withdrawal and further 4% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.87 to make the lay back up. Much lower was available, so we were back on for a full lay. The lay came in 2nd after a good battle, so a good result.....

The 6th runner we wanted 1.16, and with being around 1.21 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all (1.18 lowest price matched), we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, as it should, and so a good leave......

The 7th runner we wanted 2.8, and with drifting to around 3.2 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid another race this afternoon. The runner missed the break by about 6 lengths, finished well and lost by 3 lengths, so a bit unlucky I suppose. The drift beat race to racers to the punch again then. Grr! Early traders again happy though......

The 8th runner we wanted 1.7, and with drifting to around 1.75 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, race to racers yet again had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so glad of the drift now and a good leave........

The 9th runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.9 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner ran a poor sort of race to be fair and was easily beaten in the end, so 'one that got away in hindsight'......

The 10th runner we wanted 2.7, and with drifting to around 2.8 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The lay had to work very hard, and god knows what the jockey on the eventual 2nd was doing, but the lay won, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........

The 11th runner we wanted 2.7, but a non runner and 3.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.64. The price was around 3.75 on arrival and although dropping down, it never came anywhere near our lay price, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so 'one that got away in hindsight' it was........

The 12th runner was a non runner, so on to the next......

The 13th and final runner was also a non runner, so that was that!

WELL PLAYED..............

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) won 1 target...............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 5th runner).................And that's where they finished with running out of enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target. So a 1 target win....

Bank builder strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit............They then had their 1st lay (the 5th runner) at 2.6 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets...........They then had their 2nd lay (the 10th runner) at 2.7 max, but a poor result see them give a bit back, or go a little behind...........That's where they finished, so either a small win, or around levels......

Bank builder 4 runner strategy. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10

Total bank now £410

1st lay £102.50 to win as much of the £90 needed @ 2.6 max. Result positive. Win £64

Total bank now £474

2nd lay £157 to win the remaining £26 @ 2.7 max. Result negative. Lose £44

Total bank now £430

That's where they ended it.

Overall result. Win 0.3 of a target at the very worst.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8

Total bank now £408

1st lay £81.60 to win as much of the £92 @ 2.6 max. Result positive. Win £51

Total bank now £459

2nd lay £114 to win the remaining £41 @ 2.7 max. Result negative. Lose £70

Total bank now £389

That's where they ended it.

Overall result. Concede 0.1 of a target at the very worst.

Traders had the day really, as all the prices had to be gained early this afternoon. They had a good day as all they did went well, so good stuff guys...

So what a frustrating sort of day that was. I know we hit our targets, or broke around levels at worst, but there were far too many drifters this session for race to race players, and it cost them at least 2 targets, and bank builders a full target. Anyhow, that's how it goes sometimes. Speak soon with this evening's workings...

Morning.

The races, runners, and prices, to work around for this afternoon then, as follows....

2.10 Lingfield. CEREMONIAL JADE (3.5)

Our price 3/1 (4.0) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.7 or under.

2.15 Newcastle. RIGUEZ DANCER (2.0)

Our price 11/10 (2.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

2.20 Uttoxeter. KING'S EURO (3.4)

Our price 14/5 (3.8) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.5 or under. *Traders be aware that this fella likes to lead in his races, or at least race very prominent*

2.25 Wetherby. SPROSSER (3.45)

Our price 13/5 (3.6) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.3 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

3.00 Wetherby. COMPROMIZNOTENSION (2.74)

Our price 9/4 (3.25) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.96 or under.

3.35 Wetherby. NOSFERATU (1.24)

Our price 1/5 (1.2) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.16 or under, we'll chance a lay. *Traders be aware that although he tends to be held up in his races, this would be against 'seemingly' much lesser lights, therefore he may be forced to make all to go the pace he needs and wants. Should win either though to be honest*

3.50 Lingfield. EXCUSEZ MOI (3.0)

Our price 21/10 (3.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

4.05 Uttoxeter. PUNCHESTOWNS (1.93)

Our price Evens (2.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.7 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

4.45 Wetherby. FRANKIE FIGG (2.78)

Our price 9/5 (2.8) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.5 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he likes to lead, or race very prominent in his races*

4.55 Lingfield. SUNDOWNER (3.05)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

5.10 Uttoxeter. KING FONTAINE (3.15)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

5.20 Wetherby. CROP WALKER (2.9)

Our price 15/8 (2.875) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.56 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

5.50 Wetherby. RANDOLF (2.84)

Our price 9/4 (3.25) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.96 or under.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:10am.

That's what we have to work on for this afternoon then. Plenty of differing races and make ups to work through, and although it's a tricky looking day, we still have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle. Discipline to the maximum as always, and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings, and of course the results mail...
