3yo struggling in handicaps

3yo struggling in handicaps

they seem to be battling against older horses especially against 4yo. can anyone explain it.

Haha lets not go there again...... Hmmmm handicappers, punish them but refuse to drop them until they're faaaarked(tu)

I always find that until February / March, especially over a mile plus, the 3 year olds battle against the older horses.

I don't think that the 3yos are battling at all. Had a quick look at the last 6 Kenilworth meetings- 20 handicaps, 10 won by 3yo, and I think that there were more older horses competing, so no evidence that the 3yo are struggling.

velvet verona struggled to win a mr 80 handicap yesterday off the low weight of 63kg ...

of course not but others are, even carrying much less that 63kg. i may be wrong but i have noticed a few fancied 3yo that failed to make the frame.
