I mean really, has it gotten to the point where Sheldon is now calling the horses home that he's punted.

He clearly called 'go Sun City the last 100'.

He shouted that because the horse is a nine year old, it's a great advertisement for racing that they still can run crackers at that age.

I can remember in the 1992 July when Spanish Galliard won the commentator said before the line "I knew you could do it Robbie Sham" It did add more spice to the finish, after all I still can remember it. I was 14years then. If im not mistaken in the same year Spanish Galliard won the Champion Stakes and lost it on the objection to Olympic Duel a month later in August. Those were the good old days. Golden memories.

Any commentator try to pick a possible winner from 200 to finish and will raise his voice calling that horse. With the close finishes and dead heats nowadays it is becoming impossible to pick a horse. I have done commentary for the local tv station for years and most times must commentate on my own horses running. Imagine that!

Any Trainer getting a 9 year old in that condition and to run like that is top class. Imho, thats what I think Sheldon was excited about. Just a great, pasionate thing, this Racing game. And I was shouting too, for the horse, the Trainer and the Owner !
