bettingworld have there own "open bet"

the operator is so worried about the open bet as they feel these is bad for raceing. what ever your viewpoint on open bet, let me ask these question - what return do the tote see on betting worlds offering of fixed odds of traditional tote bets. right now you can walk in to the betting world and get fixed price on swinger / trifecta / exacta / quartet. we now through the tote these bets bring the minimum of 18% more often up to 25%. so when the punters put the money into the betting world fixed odds "open bet" what percentage come back to the tote......

Will betting world be paying the 3% into the pot for showing international races ?

And will this money go to TT or to the pot ?

for me it seem the operator have one set of rule that do not apply to them. every take 2 of 3 or the like bet is a bet that is taken outside the tote pot so how can these be diferent to the open bet?

bw give their own odds for these bets it has nothing to do what the tote pays on the bet..they give you a fixed price on the exacta or trifecta you take with them ...the open bet is totally relying on what the tote pays for that particular bet ie trifecta exacta etc

pirates 100% i under stand these very well. what i am saying is these - if pirates walk into betting world and take a 500 rand swinger, that 500 is out the tote pot just like the amounts that do not go in to the tote pot when open bet is take. is exactly the same principlal.

Betting World is partially owned by Phum. So Phum will indirectly receive a representative portion of that R500 swinger placed at BW. Correct?

Without trying to, and probably unsuccessfully, calculate the odds on swingers, etc, does any clansman know the formulae?

I guess u mean the fixed odds place
However the important point is that placing any bet outside the tote is a negative to the operators and not going via the pool.

Are people not going on too much about the "open bet". I would have thought that most prudent bookmakers are laying off at the tote and that the tote is therefore getting its slice of the action with the bookmaker reduced to being an agent of the tote?

That would go to shareholders, P is not "pot". "pot" is formula from Saftote. Don't get confused, all is not rose garden, some is cannabis.
