Im sure this is a difficult question......not everyone knows who the companions are.

Im interested to read the opinions of the clanners that got watch. Who they thought had good gallops and who had great gallops. Who didnt look good etc.

It sucks sitting in front of a laptop at work........arrrggghhhh

I'm guessing the gallops weren't streamed? or videos uploaded somewhere?

Peekay imo the best gallops were

1. Cape town noir

2. Jackson

3.king of pain

4. Jet explorer

5. Royal zulu

Master of my fate sweated up badly but Drier said he is very happy
With the horse and expects a big run

Woodruff said his horses picked up a virus in ct , hence their
disappointing runs in Queens plate etc but all is well now and he
Is happy, at the draws there was talk of do you remember being
the "right one"

Joey soma says take the exacta ctn/Jackson boxed

Watched all the gallops but the first 5.

All I took from these was that none looked out of sorts. To my amateur eye that is.

Cape Town – Master Of My Fate has displaced Jackson at the head of the J&B Met betting market after impressing in the gallops at Kenilworth on Thursday morning.

The four-year-old, winner of his last six races, was ridden by big-race jockey Sean Cormack in a spin over 1400m with stable companion Dream Away, who led into the straight. At the 400m mark, Cormack’s mount swept past his stablemate and strode away in great style.

Master Of My Fate sweated up more than most onlookers expected and some expressed concern. Neither his jockey or trainer had the slightest worry.

Dennis Drier said: “He always does that – has been sweating with every run in Cape Town. I couldn’t have been happier with him.”

Cormack added: “He only started sweating at the junction and it was pretty humid. I was sweating myself. In fact, he is a very laid-back horse – he is not one who will go out and win a gallop by 10 lengths – and when he pulled up he wouldn’t have blown out a candle.”

Jackson (Glenn Hatt) cantered over 900m and went on his own. He looked well and worked nicely and Brett Crawford was more than satisfied, saying: “He moved beautifully and he did it well. Most importantly, he enjoyed himself. He puts a lot into what he does and even at home we seldom work him with other horses.”

However, Betting World eased him from 5-2 to 28-10 and left Master Of My Fate on his own at 5-2. This is the first time since Betting World priced up on 9 December that Jackson has not been favourite or joint favourite.

Capetown Noir (Karl Neisius) also worked on his own. He did little more than canter over 800m and was kept on a tight rein. Dean Kannemeyer said: “He is a fit horse, he enjoyed himself and he didn’t just go through the motions.”

Geoff Woodruff-trained challengers Yorker (Greg Cheyne) and Master Sabina (Ossie Noach) went 700m at a steady pace, while Whiteline Fever (Bernard Fayd’Herbe) went with a stable companion and pleased Sean Tarry, who said: “He had a nice stretch, his prep has gone smoothly. I was happy with his run in the Queen’s Plate and this was effortless.”

Jet Explorer (Richard Fourie) was particularly impressive, striding out nicely in a solo spin, and Fourie said: “He is in a happy place at the moment and things have been going well for him.”

Trainer Gavin van Zyl rode No Worries himself, saying: “I ride him every day. My jockey (Piere Strydom) is in Jo’burg and I’m happy with the horse.”

I didn't watch all the gallops , but the good lookers were particularly Jackson , followed by CTN , Jet Explorer and Ice Machine .

I've already backed MOMF so was a bit concerned with his looks , but his trainer wasn't fussed when interviewed and he should know .
