Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows........
The 1st runner we wanted 1.44, and with being around 1.61 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see anywhere near our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner won very easily, so a good leave..........
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.4, and with being a well supported 3.1 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at 3.1 max. The lay was nicely beaten, so a good result.......
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.3, and with being slightly higher on arrival and then dropping down to us, we ad a lay at 3.3. The lay was a nicely beaten 2nd, so a good result........
The 4th runner we wanted 2.0, and with being around 2.3 on arrival and although coming down a bit, the price never came down to our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner came in a well beaten 2nd, so 'one that got away in hindsight'..........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 1.93 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at 1.93 max. The lay had to work very hard, and maybe was a little fortunate the 2nd favourite unseated rider late on, but got the win and so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........
The 6th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being a well supported 1.53 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at around 1.53 max. The lay finished a well beaten 4th in the end after trying to make all, so a good result........
The 7th runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.35 on arrival, and with not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner made it harder work than plenty thought, but got the win, so a good leave.......
The 8th runner we wanted 2.9, and with being around a well supported 2.64 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.64. The race is over an hour away, and so with all strategy play completed, and just a bit of trading left for this session, I'm calling it a day and will be back soon with the workings for this evening's racing. 'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) won 1 target............They started their first strategy/target on the 2nd runner, and then ht their targets on their 4th lay (the 6th runner)...............They then ran out of enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target, so they end the session winning 1 target...
Bank builder strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 3.1 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets...........They then ad their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 3.3, and a good result see 4 runner players hit their targets.......
5 runner builders needed a little more, and so they went to their 3rd lay (the 5th runner) at 1.93 max, but a poor result see them give a little back..............They then had their 4th lay (the 6th runner) at 1.53 max, and a good result see them hit their targets.....

That's what we have to work on for this afternoon then. A mixture of differing races and make ups, and although it always looks tricky, we still have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do.
