"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Thursday 20th March Workings...
17 years 2 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows........
The 1st runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.4 on arrival and then dropping sown to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.2 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.5 and slightly beyond, so now a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten by the main danger, so a good result.......
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.56, and with drifting quite alarmingly to around 3.8 on arrival, just getting bigger, and with not coming down anywhere near our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner ran better than the drift suggested to be fair, but still couldn't win, so I suppose the drift justified in the end and 'one that got away in hindsight'.........
The 3rd runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 2.04 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage, we all had to avoid another race. The runner ran a poor race it has to be said, and was subsequently beaten, so 'another that gets away in hindsight'.............
The 4th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.8 on arrival and then dropping down to us right near the off, we had a lay at the bottom of the market, and 1.7. The lay came in 2nd after a battling finish, so a good result.........
The 5th runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 1.7 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 1.6 max. The lay went and won well, so the way it goes...........
The 6th runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.32 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well enough, so a good leave.......
The 7th runner we wanted 2.6, and with being around 2.48 on arrival and getting slightly shorter, we had a lay at 2.48 max. The lay managed to hold on late to win, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........
The 8th runner we wanted 3.0, and with getting around 2.98 and shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.98 max. The price then went for a walk and out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, so a chance for traders (builders hit and finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was nicely beaten in the end, so a good result........
The 9th and final runner we wanted 3.3, and by the time we got there, it was off! so race to racers had to leave it alone. The runner came in 2nd after a battling finish, so very frustrating for rollers as the price was there, but too late!"! so the last race took too long... Grr. Early traders happy though........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.............
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) ended level..............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 4th runner).............They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 5th runner, and after a battle, they ended up recouping a bit on their 3rd lay (the 8th runner), but still had to end up conceding 1 target, so they end the day level........
Bank builder strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit...........They then had their 1st lay (the 4th runner) at 1.7, and a good result see them hit their targets........
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10
Total bank now £410
1st lay £102.50 to win the remaining £90 @ 1.7. Result positive. Win £90
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8
Total bank now £408
1st lay £81.60 to win the remaining £92 @ 1.7. Result positive. Win £92
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.

Traders had to concede a little on the 5th runner at 1.6 max, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, so they won a little on the day and well played...
So builders went around the houses a bit, but not a problem to be fair as no point laying at poor value prices in the long run, as we all know, and they got their money being shrew enough! Rollers ended level after going one up, then having to give it back after a 3 runner strategy, so a bit frustrating, but that's the game and levels will suffice looking back. No racing tomorrow as of 'good friday', so enjoy the day off, and don't eat too much chocolate guys! Speak on Saturday morning then.........
Marc.

That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. Plenty to think about, and looks a tricky session to be fair, but saying that, we still have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so we'll do just that! Discipline to the maximum as always, and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon..
