"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Saturday 22nd March Workings...
17 years 2 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows.....
The 1st runner we wanted 3.1, and with getting 3.0/05 on arrival, we had a lay at 3.05 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.4 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was nicely beaten, so a good result.......
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.44 on arrival and getting shorter and shorter, we had a lay at 2.44 max. The lay came in 2nd to a rag after a dour battle and close finish, so we'll take that and a good result......
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.2, but a non runner and 3.5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.1. The price had drifted to around 3.85 on arrival and then came tumbling down to us and beyond under good late support, so we had a lay at 3.3 max. The lay was nicely beaten, so nice late money and a good result.........
The 4th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being a well supported 1.61 on arrival, we had a lay at 1.61. The lay was nicely beaten, and so a good result........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.1, and with drifting to around 2.3 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.1 max. The lay went and won well, so the way it goes......
The 6th runner we wanted 1.44, and with being around 1.56 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at the rock bottom of the market and 1.44. The lay went and won well, so again, the way it goes......
The 7th runner we wanted 2.9, and with being around 3.15 on arrival and only getting bigger, we had to avoid the race. The runner went and won a battle, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave........
The 8th runner we wanted 3.0, but a non runner and 2.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.95. The price was around 2.82 on arrival and getting shorter, so we had a lay at 2.82 max. The lay was nicely beaten in the end, so a good result....
The 9th runner we wanted 2.0, and with being a well supported 1.83 on arrival, we had a lay at a1.83. The lay went and won, so fair play and the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it..............
The 10th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 4.1 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The price then shot back out the other way, and to our own price of 3.6 and above, so a chance for traders (builders finished for the day) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was beaten, so a good result.......
The 11th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.4 on arrival, over 30 minutes to the race, all strategy play completed, and just a bit of trading left on offer, I'm leaving there as a good job done! so good luck traders with the remainder...
WELL PLAYED.............
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) won 2 targets.............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner)..............They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 3rd runner, and hit that target on their 2nd lay (the 4th runner).................Then they started their 3rd strategy/target on the 5th runner, and after a dour battle, they needed to recoup on their 5th and final lay (the 10th runner) and they did, so they ended this strategy/target level.............That left them with an insufficient amount of potential runners left to start another strategy/target, so they end the session winning 2 targets.......
Bank builder strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) which bought a tiny profit.........They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.44 max, and a good result see them win a nice chunk of their targets.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 3.3 max, and a good result see them hit their targets......

Traders had to concede a little on the 5th runner at 2.1, and the 6th runner at 1.44, but all others thus far have seen them win a bit, or break level, so good luck with the remainder...
So builders took advantage of a couple of well backed early runners to get the money, so well played guys. Rollers hit a couple of targets and then had a dour battle to break level, so they'll accept that as a good job done, and well played guys. Speak soon with this evening's workings....

That's what we have to work on for this afternoon then. The start of the flat season then, and good to see it come back to be honest, so good stuff.
Not easy for this afternoon's play, but we have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so with discipline to the maximum and with taking advantage of any prices that come our way, we'll hope value wins the day as it certainly does over a period of time. Good luck then, and speak soon with this evening's workings, plus this afternoon's results mail...
