I thought I mentioned that I thought it is not right that 'we' have to suffer because of other people's agenda's - all I'm trying to point out is that 'racing' in SA has been around without TV coverage and imo will still be around even if TT is removed from DsTV

Too many fragile egos...or too many people in "senior" positions who take themselves and what they do too seriously...acting like masters of all and sundry...a man can see a speck of dust on another man's forehead but cannot see a pack of fleas at the tip of his own nose...

F sorry my mistake. I do agree with you, however we have moved on and racing has now become even more international than ever. Will we be able to witness this ? I remember sitting on my old mans shoulders in the parking area at Kenilworth watching racing. Listening to all the amazing stories/characters from the track over the years. How many of us have the time or just want to chill at home watching the racing and have a bet or two ? If I cant see the racing Im sure 8 out of 10 times I wont have a bet unless its my own horse. In that case do you think I would take my wife to a filthy tote to watch my horses running in Natal or JHB or PE ( Im in CPT) ? NO ! So my choice would be to go to a bookie or live streaming !!?? All because of personal agendas !! My other question : Who gave them the right to stuff up my situation ( which I like), on who's mandate were they operating and changing the status quo ? Not mine !
Racing will obviously continue without TT but we will all have to make sacrifices. Piss-poor show if you ask me.

I have spoken to some top trainers and the general feeling is that the disappearance of TT will kill the king of sports in SA

yip oscar its the shopwindow of south african racing but along with provincialism peoples egos and private agendas in racing is killing the game...the industry lacks leaders of true quality and will continue to have these continued battles within it where nobody will ultimately win the war...its shocking what is going on at the moment with the operators waging battles with the other roleplayers..tellytrack v bookies and gold circle v the jockeys to name but two...sickening

For various reasons I haven't watched TT or been to the track since the MET, my interest in racing over this period has more than halved and my punting is down to almost zero another month and it's all gone except for the occasional runner which I would go to the track for and have a punt.

TT goes I agree, it's over!!! P playing a very dangerous game they can ill afford whereas the bookmakers already get more than 50% from other activities! probably closer now to 70%

tellytrack has decayed to such an extent that in its current state besides seeing the actual race the quality of the verbal content is 80 percent absolute muck...we have become so used to its mediocrity that we just accept it and its only when you hear outside broadcasts that you realise how far away it is to living up to 1st world standards...believe me if it had any competition it wouldnt last 2 minutes in its current format never mind 5 minutes
