Not sure what illness he is suffering from but I seen the below picture on Facebook and he looks quite ill

A great jockey.....................legend. Sad to see him look so ill, going downhill after a stroke and an amputation. Hope he gets some good health back.

When he won with politician beating i think festive season was most probably the most brilliant ride i think it was when politician won he's 2nd queensplate brilliant rider sad 2 see him like that everything of the best to him

Yes that was the 2nd Met that Bertie won on board Politician getting up to beat Festive Season when hopelessly boxed in.

It was the following year that he did the impossible to win the Met if my memory is correct. That season he also won the Queens Plate beating future July winner Over the air by 3.75 lengths when never coning off the bit and from the front.
