Below are images of the tote. You would not be able to find it has it has no visible signage on the outside. Note how they market the international racing. Could they have not printed a colour poster ? Also in the 3rd pic you will notice a television that is about 15 years old. They had 4 of them and one plasma screen.
Diagonally across the road from the tote is a Hollywood Branch. It has adequate signage and plenty plasma screens. I would not consider it to be an upmarket facility but it is certainly many divisions above what the tote has.

I live in Knysna.
I don't go to either, but if I had to, I would bring some hand sanitizer.

I think I remember a post from Justin Snaith somewhere, where he mentions this Knysna tote , which he came across whilst on holiday and how bad it was. This is disgusting !
I followed up and spoke to the regional manager, Dinnish- apparently, the landlord has now agreed to extensions and renovations are imminently due, but could take up to 6 months due to Municipal procedures re licensing etc.
Maybe Harris could report to us when progress happens or if no progress by, say, end September ?
Harris your point is very well made !

very easy to sort this problem, sure the shareholders could take a drop in dividends for a year or two, would benefit all in the long run

Little chance of that happening...the current impasse is to ensure even greater profits and even greater dividends to shareholders...and all those holding P shares hope this translates into an increasing share price so that they can sell off their shares at big profits...and the fact that some major players are also in bed with the operators casts doubt on their ability to act impartially with regards to what is best for the sport / industry and what is best for themselves...
Being a major player should grant no-one (the right to feel entitled to) a reward in excess of what is due to them...
