I recall reading somewhere that the favourite (in statistics compiled over several decades, and across numerous racing jurisdictions around the world), itself has a strike rate of around 30 something percent, so I'm not sure what value there is in measuring tipping prowess by strike rate alone.:S

I remember reading that it's 27-28% worldwide on favourites irrespective of price...
