About a decade ago or more a recording of a TellyTrack interview with a groom from PE was aired on that Australian racing TV programme, Racing World. The groom obviously didn't know the meaning of the f-word because every 2nd or 3rd word from the groom was that word. The Aussies aired it just for a laugh ...

not sure but they should also get a % just like Jockeys and Trainers do on any race - I know the poor owner has to pay again but without the groom there would be no racing ( the owners i know always give the grooms a present after a win).

Well advanced plans for 1% of Winners stake to grooms. Huge administration task/process.
Yesterday's mugs were engraved/sandblasted with details of the Feature race, so is a trophy. Envelope with cash was inserted.
Our head groom, Sam, often stands in for myself during interviews and brings passion to this, always thanks his team etc.

Stan the man brushed yr groom aside yesterday, imo he is the worst on
course presenter as he never asks winning jocks, trainers etc about
upcoming runners

One solution maybe that Tellytrack have some "trainee presenters"in the various centres who can step in and conduct a proper interview with the winning grooms.
Unfortunately there is only one Vicky Minott at the moment, who by a country mile is the presenter with the best personality.

They are the only ones that never get a kiss or a hug after a winner

I agree that this has and is a very awkward situation especially on TV (I believe caused by the language barrier) however believe me most top grooms are very well looked after. He gets his present from me after each win and also gets included in most lead-ins. Owners would be stupid not too !
Kospendul is as much a part of our team as any other member maybe even more so. His knowledge of the animals well-being is paramount and his opinion in most matters is acquired before decisions are made.
A bit off the subject I know, but S just to illustrate an owners feelings towards his care-giver. No kisses but a huge amount of respect !
