New Weekly Tipping Competition!!!
11 years 2 months ago
Can you have more fun for R200?
Dave has given me the go ahead to run a weekly buy in tipping competition. Here are the rules. Please post any questions that you may have.
New Rules
1. This is a weekly buy in tipping competition on South African Horse Racing, starting on Sunday April 20th and ending on the following Saturday April 26th.
2. The entry fee R200 per player.
3. If you want to enter, you need to notify me and I will PM you my banking details.
4. Only players whose monies have been received into my bank account before the start of the competition will be entered into it. Any late payments will be automatically entered into the following week’s competition.
5. If doing a cash deposit please add on the extra for bank charges or your entry will not be accepted until I have cleared R200 after all banking fees.
6. A maximum of four tips/selection are allowed for every race meeting. It’s not just one anymore like the old monthly competition used to be. So go find us four awesome tips a meeting now!
7. The bet amount is one to ten per selection, only natural numbers that means no decimal values allowed. If you do bet a decimal amount I will round down. If you bet 11 or more points on any single selection, it will be ignored.
8. The cut-off time to place selections is five minutes before the first race is carded to start in sporting post for the meeting in question. If a meeting is delayed, the cutoff time does not move. The formula I use is race card time minus five minutes and I include that time's selections, for example 12:40 as a first race carded time would be 12:40-5 mins = 12:35. And so I would include all 12:35 posts and posts earlier than that.
9. NO EDITING ALLOWED You will be disqualified from the competition if you do this. So double check or even triple check your entries before posting them on the forum.
10. Scratchings If your selection is scratched; your bet will be ignored. DO NOT POST another selection, so make sure your horse is not scratched before submitting your selection.
11. Post each of your four selections as follows.
i) Race number that your selection is running
ii) Horse number, if you do not put the horse number your selection will be ignored.
iii) Type of bet, win or place only. No others will be accepted. If you do not say what type, a win bet is assumed.
iv) The amount of points you are willing to wager on your bet. (1 to 10)
v) An example might look like this....Flamingo Park; Race2 #5 place 8pts, Race 5 #2 win 10 pts, Race6 #1 place 10 pts, Race 8 # 4 place 10 pts.
vii) You do not have to put down four selections, if you only like three, then only put the three you like. If you don’t like anything on the card, you do not have to post a selection.
viii) If you put more than four selections for the meeting, all of them will be ignored.
12. Points will be scored as follows. -1 multiplied by your bet size for all losing selections. The tote pay out -1 multiplied by your bet size for winning selections.
13. Players will be sorted by profit, then strike rate then number of bets placed.
14. You need to post at least 8 selections in the week to qualify for the grand prize
15. If there is a dispute, Lucky_Dude's decision is final.
16. It is a winner takes all competition. The winner will get 75% of the total pool and the rest will go towards running these competitions. The minimum guaranteed 1st prize is R300, but will be much more if more players play.

Ziets it's four selections per meeting. So in your example you could go for four on the Fairview card and four on the Greyville card.
