I agree with you 100% winzip including that liverpool scenario.

I am obviously in the minority here - I enjoy not having to watch the 'international feed' (the exception being major meetings like Cheltenham, etc) - however why the studio presenter spends 10 minutes 'giving you a guide' on the JP Quickmix is beyond me; there should be a way for those that want, to watch 'international racing' - hopefully that is what Craig is saying - and not that we are going to be shown the chariots on 'our local channel' again :

I have to agree ..............I get very frustrated when I see stakeholders who rely on the local racing industry for income feel compelled to throw their support behind the mismanagement of so many areas of the industry.
Perhaps its that idea that it would be fatal to oppose them due to being held to ransom by the monopoly!

ABC is one of the places where the consumer, or the end user, hangs out. Not every post here makes sense or is even informed, but there are many comments which are entirely correct.
I think the following is also correct: horse racing is a sport that will continue to diminish compared to its earlier glories when it was the main game in town, however until managers and boards take the trouble to know what the end user wants the racing game will shrink at an ever increasing rate.
One of the issues that will haunt us is that while the Telly Track debacle was allowed to affect the customers, P's shares make the company it's highest value to date, 1.6 Billion I believe. So while they cock up, they remain rewarded and keep their licence to do as they please. One sees that horse racing is tolerated because it facilitates a structure which makes money from thing other than local racing. The next incarnation of managers and board members will be asking themselves why bother much with local racing and so the tail will wag the dog.

Absolutely OR. Look at the work THH did yesterday at Fairview for example. Brilliant. 3 or 4 thank him for his efforts and 1 or 2 say well done. Clanners need a farking big kick up the @rse imo, both some of those who contribute and all the viewers only. It really p1sses me off that someone can do that much work, give it to us all for free, has an excellent success rate (I hope I am not putting the mockers on him!!) and most people just seem to take it for granted. Farking wake up people, if I were THH I'd say bollox to the lot of you and walk away and what a huge loss that would be to this forum. He probably won't because he seems a very decent, mellow person, all the more credit to him (tu) And less credit to the rest of the clan (td)

English,OU R, these days people that use the internet are spoiled and expect to be able to read great stuff, without having to give it a second thought..
I agree that we are spoilt on here with so many guys that are willing to put in effort

Well let me doom a bit more then
< quality not quantity is what the forum has often been missing in the last 6-12 months imho (no disrespect to anyone intended, I am of course a clanner myself!
) Let's all think a little more about what this forum should be about, let more of us give our selections with a little reasoning behind why and try and pull back some of the excellent posters who have reduced their input or disappeared in recent times...
As for interesting "controversy", FH is proving a very sad loss, hope you are RIP bud (tu)

I'm not touching the horses but do acknowledge when any of the clanners post a good racing bet...
Methinks that the topics determine the responses...if a topic has been covered before with no progress / feedback / action / etc, not much is posted if a similar topic is started...
And with the horses, interest is down so not much will be posted...that is not to detract from the detailed analysis done and posted by clanners...just that the number of people interested in those posts are dwindling...

Englander, you don't think that it is a bit presumptuous for any one individual to decide what this forum should BE ABOUT?
Different people are looking to make different contributions and get different benefits.
Surely every poster use the forum in the way that suits THEMSELVES best!
